YOUNG BLOOD.
"I'm named after the battleship, USS Arizona. I have a sister. Her name is Shiloh–after the Battle of Shiloh during the Civil War. My parents are history nerds, if you couldn't tell," she explains, swirling cream into her coffee.
"It's creative," I say.
"Why'd you go to Minnesota after you were released from prison?"
I don't know why I never got annoyed of this, but Arizona just loves to talk and ask questions. No matter how random it is and I seem to find comfort in it. Someone cares about me, finally.
"A change of scenery?" I shrug. "No one exactly likes me here. Plus, Eva–only select people actually meant something to me and they're gone..." I look away, my cheeks turning red but she catches it anyway.
"So, um," Arizona avoids eye contact. "Evangeline's coming back into town."
I look up.
Arizona looks me in the eye. "Vincent and Emma are coming along too. I just thought you'd want to know..."
Oh.
