Billie's Lover

Chapter 15

*Clara’s POV*

Another month rolled by and I was now 6 months pregnant. I had been getting weird stomach craps lately so I was going into the doctor today for a check up. I called her and she said that I shouldn’t worry and that it was probably nothing, but to come in anyway.
My classes had started again but I had missing a lot because of my stomach pain.

“Billie!” I called, “I’m leaving now!”

He joined me at the front door.

“Are you sure you don’t want me to come?” He asked.

“Yes, I’ll be fine,” I replied with a kiss.

I drove down to the doctor’s in dreadful discomfort. I felt so bloated and awkward.

When I arrived I waited in the waiting room for a bit then got called into the private room.

“So, what seems to be the problem?” Asked the doctor scanning her clip board.

“Well, I’ve been getting really bad stomach cramps,” I replied, “And just feeling really weird.”

“Well that tends to happen.” She said.

“I’ve also stopped getting morning sickness.” I added.

“You’re six months pregnant?” She asked.

I nodded.

“I just don’t feel right,” I said.

“Well, let’s have a look,” She said, motioning for me to lie down.

She did the ultrasound, but I never did get a look at the screen.

“Everything looks fine…” She said.

“Oh good!” I said, “I have to admit I was a bit worried.”

She sighed, “Everything’s fine. Don’t fret…”

I drove home with a smile on my face. I was feeling much better.
“Billie!” I said walking through the front door.

“Yea!” He said, “Everything okay?”

“Yep,” I said smiling, “Everything’s fine.”

We ate dinner then settled down on the couch and watched some T.V.

“Well, I’m off to bed,” I said getting up from under Billie’s arm.

“Alright,” He replied, “Be up in a bit.”

*Billie’s POV*

I was just about to shut off the T.V and join Clara upstairs when the phone rang.

“Hello?” I said.

“Hi, this is Dr. Barnes calling. Is this Mr. Armstrong?” She asked.

“Yes…” I replied.

“As I’m sure you know your wife came in for an ultrasound today,” She said.

“Yea, and she said everything was fine,” I said now a bit worried.

"Well, I know it’s not very processional but being a mother, I couldn’t bring myself to tell her…” She said trailing off.

“Tell her what?!” I shrieked.

She sighed, “You’ve lost the baby…”
