The Star the Shines Black

Beyond the petty wars fought by humans over money and power, there is a war raging on between a peaceful life and a hell on earth. Arya, a 16 year-old girl and the youngest Captain of the Crystal Riders, an army fighting to keep humans safe from the Shadow Riders, who strive for the extermenation of all humans, has her life fall apart when her first squad was murdered during the Shadow Massacre last year. Now she must find soldiers with Crystal blood to fight beside her before the Shadow Riders decide to start an all out war. When she aquires a new squad, they are scared and unwilling to fight, but when the Shadow Riders ambush the encampment, they must decide whether to fight or run, and Arya must decide between love and duty. When the war reaches the streets, however, Arya has a bigger fight. the one between her Crystal blood she was born with and the Shadow Blood implanted in her many years ago.
