His brother and his brother's girlfriend came over for dinner.

"Lyd, you make the best food, I swear to God," Jacob said, slumping back in the seat, after finishing his second helping.

Ahna rolled her eyes. "All this fatty does is eat," she patted Jacob's belly. "I don't know how Ross and Jake can be so related when they're nothing alike. Ross is sweet. Jake's the cookie monster."

She only laughed and glanced at him, who looked tired. He locked eyes with hers and gave her a smile, which she returned the best she could.

"So, I guess we should tell you the real reason why we called for this dinner," Jake said, putting an arm around Ahna. He looked between the younger couple and exclaimed, "We're getting married!"

All she could think about the rest of the night was her own engagement and how excited they were, just like Jacob and Ahna. She watched as he did the dishes and cleaned the table. When he finished, he went over to the cupboard and opened up the pills and took a few. He brushed past her and kissed her on the cheek, before heading to bed.

She remembered how they used to be, just like Jacob and Ahna.
