"Hm?"

"Are you still angry that I cheated on you?" he sat down next to her as she kept her eyes glued to the television screen.

"I've already forgiven you for that," she mumbled.

"I–I know, but you've been so distant from me since. Don't think I haven't noticed. Lyd, you know how sorry I am and that I continue to regret it. Please, please know that I'm trying. I still love you."

A muscle in her jaw twitched. She turned to look at him and she said,

"We're not who we used to be, Ross. Nothing's the same, no matter how hard we try."
