The Man Who Couldn't Die

THIRTEEN;

They married only two weeks later. It was a small ceremony. Holland wore a beautiful white gown that belonged to Mrs. Tallavera when she got married to Mr. Tallavera. He wore his uniform.

They celebrated all night long and Holland couldn't contain the smile on her face. He tried his best to be just as happy, but all everyone did was ask about his time in the war. Mrs. Duquet got angry and told everyone to leave him alone and that he just got married, but it didn't help him to stop thinking about it.

As they drove off in his truck with JUST MARRIED in giant bold letters painted on the back, Holland snuggled close to him, kissing him softly on the cheek.

"Rhett, I know that you're going through a lot," she murmured. "But I just want to tell you that you make me happier than anything else in this world. I don't know what I'd've done if you never came back."

He smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"You have no idea how much you mean to me, Hol," he whispered.
