The Man Who Couldn't Die

FIVE;

It was October 12, 1941 and six months after they started dating that Holland finally told him she loved him. He's already said it a million times, but she never said it back. He was okay with that.

When she was well into her old age, she wrote him a letter and admitted that she's liked him since they're first date, but was too proud to say it. He was just the crazy boy who fight for what he wanted. She loved that about him.

He grinned, stood up, swooped her in his arms and kissed her hard on the mouth. He continued to kiss her until she could barely breathe, but it was exhilarating. She laughed. He laughed. They collapsed on the bed and held each other in their arms until one of them fell asleep.

He was so peaceful when he slept. She watched him and traced a tiny scar on the corner of his eye and kissed him lightly on the lips, before snuggling into him and falling asleep where she belonged–in his arms.
