Heroes

Act I: Kathleen

"Time to go," Jane commands, just as I've finished arming myself. I'm the quiet, stone-faced one of our little group, but that just means that nobody expects me to come swinging at them with a dagger or two. Believe it or not, being underestimated comes in handy.

Andy is still trying to find a way to hide his shotgun when I meet Jane at the door. His shirt lost all the buttons a few days back when we were trying to escape over an eight foot fence, so it's not like he can really cover it with the fabric. Eventually, he settles for jamming it awkwardly into his waistband, the barrel pointed diagonally across his back.

Jane gives him an annoyed look, but leads us out of the cabin.
