Here I Am, Alive
30 Days
On our one month anniversary, Dave wrote me a poem.
I lived humble, among the sad
My world had life, without purpose
The elegant door, locked my hope
My light shimmered, waiting to gleam
A snow globe, wanting to be shaken
The hope arrived, in question form
The days were new, not counted
The waves crashed, the doves sang
My world turned, the mind unchained
As if touched, by the holy
The run rose, reborn in the sky
Feelings arose, sudden and fast
Finding refuge, in another's acts
Happiness rained, hope in her eyes
She was mine, our world combined
I was sure he was in it for the long run, despite the wounds I had shown him. And that was the greatest gift of all.
