Oh, Is It Love?

Chapter 2

"Oh meu Deus! This view is expectacular!" Leila gushed through the window as Nathan Adrian nodded next to her.
"It really is. Especially at this time." He said.

It was around early evening, meaning that the sun was setting giving the sky a few purples mixed with oranges making the sun look like a fluorescent orange. It had rained the day before, but today had been a cloudy. The clouds decided just to part for the sunset and it was extremely breathtaking as Leila Casto and Nathan Adrian stood at the top of the London Eye watching the city beneath them.
"Look at the Buckingham palace! Oh it's so pretty, this is super intense." Leila laughed.
"It really is, but I'm glad that you are enjoying it." He looked at her and smiled.
"Thank you for taking me here and I'm sorry for taking you away from your family."
"Oh. They were getting sick of me anyway. Completely fine. Besides, I don't know when I'll see you again since you leave on Friday."
"My nephew misses me. I would stay until closing ceremony, but he needs me." Leila sighed.
"Completely understandable. It's just that I'll miss ou too." He put his arm around her shoulder while Leila smiled.
"I'll miss you too you know. But I'm willing to make a few trips to California."
"I'll do the same for you..to Baltimore." Nathan did his trademark smile.
"Aw, you're so sweet. I'm so glad i met you Nathan You've been really nice to me." She slung her arm around his was letting it hang loosely and dangerously low on his hips.
"Why wouldn't I be nice to you?" The ferris wheel was descending slowly and Leila didn't mind how blunt his questions were.
"I don't know. Some people might think I'm annoying," three guesses who thought of her like that.
"I don't think you're annoying. Whoever does is pretty dumb, they don't take the time to get to know you, even though I've only known you for two days..but still." Nathan grinned.
"Thanks. So we're still on for the final beach volleyball match tonight?" Leila asked as they continued to gaze out of the window.
"About that. Unfortunately I can't make it, my mom wants to go out to dinner just her and me. Tomorrow though, we can have breakfast and shop a little if you want." He said.
Leila's green orbs looked up at him while frowning, "sad days! It's going to be such a good match! You like shopping?" She asked with raised eyebrows.
"No. Don't you?"
"Uh. Hell to the no. But we can get both of our nephews something." Leila said.
"Wow. A girl who doesn't care about her hair and doesn't like shopping. Where have you been all my life?"
"Around." She winked at him as she giggled.
They stood in silence as the wheel came to a stop while they waited for the doors to open. Leila and Nathan stepped out as they made their way around London. She piped up, "we have to get ice cream or something, it's part of the deal."

The swimmer grinned at her again as they continued to walk. So far, they've had a pretty good day together. Leila had called Rebecca in the morning to tell her of her date with Nathan and of course Rebecca is the girl in the relationship so she squealed like a little girl in sixth grade when Leila told her. After a few minutes of Rebecca yelling in her ear she finally was able to calm down Leila asked her what she should wear since she had no clue. Rebecca told her that Nathan wouldn't care what she wore as long as she showed up so Leila decided to wear a pair of jeans and a white v neck sweater that wasn't lose but wasn't tight either. Forty percent of the clothes that she packed were white seeing as she just loved the color and it was an international color that almost every country had in their flag so she could represent everybody. She wasn't competitive and she didn't choose sides so she cheered for everybody. Her hair was in a side fishtail; very few people got to see her with her hair down because it was a bother for her but she didn't want to cut it because it was so pretty. Leila then asked Rebecca how her night was when she left her at the party to which her response was, "oh you know..we just watched movies and stuff." Leila was pretty sure what she meant by stuff, but she didn't press the matter. Then out of the blue she said that everybody liked her except Michael Phelps.
"What do you mean?" Leila asked. They only spoke for two seconds before he had to go back inside.
"He was all, 'you know. She was very interesting, and then she got mad at me for not listening to her. It was so weird. She got mad at me for not seeing how good of an athlete I am...actually it was annoying.' Then I told him that that's what you do," Rebecca replied.
"What do I do Rebecca? Please. Enlighten me." Leila said as she was buttoning her pants up.
"You tell people what a good person they are and they choose to ignore it because the people in the world today are so negative about everything. Way to pinch 'em bro."
"I can't help it if I have to let the person know, especially when they're super good at something that they do!" Leila laughed.
So Michael Phelps thought she was annoying because she was telling him the truth about himself? That's kind of lame...don't athletes usually want to hear how good they are? Was he really that humble?
"Exactly. I don't see why he got mad but whatever. So. You better call me when your date is over..I must hear all about it and I don't think I'll be able to go to the match tonight."
"You suck. It's going to be awesome." Leila said as she sighed.
"I know. But I will see you tomorrow afternoon. We can go to the movies or something..."
"Sounds like a plan. Have a fun day without me Soni."
"You too Costa." They both hung up.
Leila had met with Nathan in front of the village again and they went to a few parks and went to the Buckingham palace to try and make the guards laugh as they did random stuff in front of them. When that didn't work they went to a nearby restaurant for some lunch and then made their way to the London Eye. Nathan and Leila continued to walk around until they found a creamery that she was sure they must sell some sort of sweets. "So who the heck is going to go to the match with me?

This stinks Adrian. I was going to scream and holler and embarrass you in front of thousands of people.." Leila laughed.
"Don't worry, I have someone who will accompany you and it will be super fun. You will highly embarrass him I'm sure. He's so stiff and chill but whatever." Nathan said as they went inside the creamery.
"Wow, you thought about everything didn't you?" Leila inquired as they looked at the choices that they had for their choosing of ice cream.
"Of course, I wasn't going to let you go alone...it's not right for a girl of your beauty to go to a game alone." Nathan said as he looked towards the chocolate ice cream.
Leila's cheeks flushed, "then you clearly don't know me." Leila laughed, "shall we share?"
"Yes. It would be back for me to eat all the ice cream anyway." Nathan laughed.
So here is what Leila has gathered from Nathan Adrian over the last two day that she has known him: he is very tall and he is very nice. He is a complete gentleman, so much so that she wished he could be an asshole for a minute and then see if she still liked him, but that's just it. She couldn't not like him, he was that likeable. Nathan treated her like girls wish they would be treated, he didn't pressure her and he was really laid back and chill. Leila could be herself around him and she felt really comfortable when she was with him. Was there anything wrong with him? She wondered, "whatever you say."
Leila ordered their ice cream and sat down at a table while Nathan went to get napkins and two spoons. She was silently pondering in her thoughts when all of the sudden the radio started playing Baby by Justin Bieber and Leila immediately was disgusted simply at the fact that she had to dance to this song with her dance group people. The dance wasn't bad, but just the fact that she had to listen to a little boy's voice that sounded like a girl didn't help. She knew the words, she did, from so many times that she listened to it while doing and practicing her dance routine. Nathan came back and started the ice cream while Leila used her spoon as a microphone and began to sing obnoxiously.
"Girl quit playing, 'we're just friends' what are you saying? Said 'there's another,' and looked right in my eyes. My first love broke my heart for the first time and I was like baby baby baby oh!" She sung in a somewhat falsetto voice making the people in the place look at her strangely as she just smiled at them all.
Nathan laughed as he continued to eat their ice cream," you sing way better than Justin Bieber."
"You eat so fast!" Leila commented.
"I'm sure I'll finish this if you don't start eating.." He said as he took another spoonful.
She loved the way his hair was shaggy and stood out in different directions. Obliging his orders, Leila took a spoonful of the sweet treat and put it in her mouth while 'hmmm'-ing at the wonderful taste. The cold substance made its way down her throat causing her to shiver a little because it was that cold. Leila didn't mind though as she took another spoonful, "you know. I gotta say. This has been one of the best dates that I've ever been to." Leila said.
"Ditto. You're so fun." Nathan said as he laughed at her. She had gotten some ice cream on the tip of her nose.
"What?" She asked innocently.
"You have some ice cream on your nose.." He said still laughing.
She stuck her tongue out and stretched it barely touching her nose but managed to get the tip of the ice cream of her nose.
"Woah. That's impressive." He said with such a sincerity in his voice.
"One of my many talents." She told him as she got another spoonful. Ice cream is very addicting.
"I bet!"
They finished their ice cream and it was around seven thirty as they headed back to Leila's hotel so Nathan could drop her off and then head out with his mom to dinner. Leila had been wondering something about Nathan for a while now so she decided to ask, "does it bother you that people don't recognize you around here?"
"No. Honestly, I swim because I love it. I don't know, there's such a rush that I get when I'm in the pool." Nathan explained.
Leila could definitely related to that since that's what she felt whenever she danced. "I'm sure by Rio everybody will know your name."
"I guess we'll have to wait and see." He grinned.
"Has anybody ever told you that you have the greatest smile in the world?" Leila asked him as she smiled herself.
"Once or twice..a third time wouldn't hurt." He chuckled.
"You have the greatest smile in the world." She laughed.
"Why thank you. I'm just shocked at the fact that the most beautiful girl is walking with me at the moment."
"Oh. Whatever. I am not!" She laughed.
"Yes you are," Nathan said while making a serious face.
"Okay. Well, would you still think I was beautiful if I walked like this?" Leila asked while starting to walk like a gorilla and swinging her arms around like gorillas do. This caused a few people to stare at her while Nathan walked quickly ahead of her and said over his shoulder, "I'm sorry. I'm looking for Leila Costa. Have you seen her around?"
Leila stopped walking like that and ran up to her friend as she giggled, "meanie."
"Hey. You asked for it." He laughed.
Leila and Nathan continued to walk back to her hotel as she noticed that the clouds drifted again to cover the sky groaning she said, "awesome. It looks like it's going to rain tonight."
"Sucks for you, you'll be outside, in the cold, cold rain..."
"Yeah, but it will be worth watching the match over tough." She shrugged her shoulders as she closed the gap between her and Nathan.
"Most definitely." He smiled at her.
All these smiles and glances made her giddy in her stomach as they reached her hotel.
"Well. I'll see you tomorrow and we can go get our nephews something." Nathan said while looking at her.
She saluted him while saying, "eye eye captain." He laughed.
Leila got up on her toes again but this time she gave him a kiss on his cheek. It was rough yet warm and he smelled like chlorine and old spice at the same time. What a lovely smell. Nathan smiled while she kissed his cheek and then he said, "I'll call you before I come pick you up."
"Sounds like a plan," she responded.

Leila went inside the hotel and realized that she had a little over thirty minutes to get ready for the game so she quickly went into her room and called her best friend. "Yo." She said as she rummaged through her bag to see if she could find anything to wear.
"So? How was it?"
"It was so nice! It's probably one of the best dates that I have ever been on. I mean seriously. They guy was such a gentleman. Everything, he treated me like a lady is supposed to be treated and it was so great! We did so much that my legs are going to be sore tomorrow. We went to the Buckingham palace and tried to make the guards laugh and then we went and ate at this cute little restaurant. We went to the London Eye and saw London. This is such a wonderful city Becca! I mean seriously, the view from the top is gorgeous." Leila exclaimed to her friend as she found nothing to wear. Walking into the bathroom to freshen up she noticed that what she was wearing didn't look that bad. Her mind decided that she wasn't going to change so she just washed her face and re did her fishtail.
"You are so adorable Leila. Nathan is a really great guy and I'm sure you made him feel like he made you feel."
"Probably. He was smiling a lot and he doesn't seem to be intimidated by me...but then again he hasn't seen where I live and what I do." Leila said while putting toothpaste on the toothbrush.
"Just explain it to him and I'm sure he'll understand. I mean, it's not like it's the most difficult schedule in the planet, regardless that I see you like three weeks total out of the entire year but it's better than not seeing you at all." Rebecca reasoned.
"Thanks Soni. I'll keep that in mind, but hey listen the person that I'm going with to the beach volleyball final should be here in a few minutes since Nathan couldn't make it."
"Do you know who?"
"He didn't say." Leila laughed.
"Have fun. We'll chat about this tomorrow."
"Yes ma'am," Leila said as they both hung up the phone.
Leila looked at herself in the mirror as she brushed her teeth noticing that her cheeks were in their full scarlet color and her eyes seemed bigger than usual. The corners of her mouth crept up into a smile as she reminisced of the events that took place today but couldn't shake off the feeling that something was going to happen. She didn't know if it was good or bad, she just knew that something was going to happen. Shaking the feeling off she finished brushing her teeth and then her phone rang. Right in the nick of time.
"Hello?" She asked seeing as it was a number that she hadn't seen before.
"Is this Leila?" The other voice said as it was a man's voice.
"Who is this?" Leila inquired.
"Ryan Lochte...who is this?"
"This is Leila. Are you my date for tonight?" Leila asked getting excited.
"Affirmative," he said.
"Oh my goosness! Are you here? Are you downstairs?" She asked getting her stuff and putting them in her pockets.
"Calm down and yes I am downstairs at the lobby. You better haul ass, we don't want to be late." He said.
"On it." She hung up the phone and ran out the door towards the stairs.

"Did you really haul ass?" Ryan asked as Leila reached him while running out of breath. She couldn't say anything so she only nodded.
"Hmm." He said as he put his hand under his chin.
"What...hmmm?" Leila said while her breathing was calming down.
"I was actually only kidding...but since you believed it. Pretty impressive." He chuckled.
"You made me run for your own entertainment?" Leila asked him as they began to walk out of the door.
"Would it be a bad idea if I said yes?" Ryan questioned.
"No. Well played sir, well played." She brought her sleeves up to her elbow as she got a little hot, hopefully the cool weather outside would chill her out.
"You're much cooler than I thought.." The gator said.
"I know." Leila smiled smugly.
Ryan and Leila made their way to the arena as they talked about their days and how the other was doing until Leila piped up, "so. Why did you just randomly stop talking to me at the retirement party dealio?"
"Well you see..there were like a gazillion people there and I'm so popular that I had to go and talk to every single one of them..." He said.
"You could have said bye or something.." Leila pouted.
"I think that's the cutest pout I've ever seen and I won't leave you tonight. Nathan made sure that I do so because if I do leave you alone something might be missing from my body."
"He threatened you?"
"Like you wouldn't believe..." Ryan said as he smirked at the Brazilian.
"Huh. How interesting. Anyway. Are you excited for this match?"
"Super! Beach volleyball is my favorite sport in the olympics. Them girls in them bikinis." He winked at Leila.
"Oh I see how it is."
"Bet you'd look hot in them bikinis." He chuckled.
"Something that you'll never know." Leila replied.
Ryan pouted at his new friend but then smiled as she knew that she was joking...was she? They reached the arena and gave the tickets to the person that was checking them and once they were inside they walked around for a bit and found their seats so they could see the crowd around them and see how good their seats actually were. Leila started walking up the stairs to the row that they were supposed to be sitting and then the number of seats, "a couple of friends are supposed to meet us here." Ryan Lochte said as he was following behind her.
She looked down the row and then spotted which friends Ryan was talking about. Great. Allison Schmitt and Michael Phelps would be joining them for the night at the match. Leila stopped and said, "you go ahead and sit next to Michael. I know you guys have a little bromance going on." Ryan nodded and didn't notice the annoyance of her tone but nevertheless she followed Ryan to their seats. Michael and Allison both got up as each of them hugged Ryan and then Leila waved to both of them. Allison smiled at Leila and

Michael gave her a nod. He must think he's such a gangster. Allison then moved from Michael's side to Leila's side and asked everybody to move one down.
"You're going to leave me alone with Lochte Allison? Thanks," Michael said sarcastically, but he was joking as he cracked a smile.
"Yes. I didn't even get to talk to Leila because of your contribution to the Olympic world," Allison stated as she sat down next to Leila.
"You can go sit next to him...I don't mind being the outcast." Leila smiled.
"Nonsense, any friend of Soni's is a friend of mine." The swimmer replied.
Leila was grateful that Michael's opinion didn't affect hers, "well thank you Allison. I appreciate it."
Ryan and Michael were in deep conversation about something since they didn't even turn to the girls to talk to them, "don't pay attention to them, they get sucked into their own little world when it's out of the competition." Allison laughed.
"Completely understandable. How are you today? Way to kick butt lady!" Leila exclaimed.
"Oh thanks. I'm good, finally rested a bit and just hung out with the family for a bit. Mostly my mom since she flew with me over here. How about you?"
"I went on a date with Nathan Adrian." Leila smiled sheepishly; she couldn't contain herself when she said his name.
"Way to snag him up girl! He's one of the tall ones now, that must have been fun. He seems like a lot of fun and he's really nice."
"Yes to all of the above." Leila giggled.
There was a whistle throughout the arena and everybody stood up; guess that means it's the start of the game. As Leila stood up she noticed how everybody around her was taller than her which meant that she could barely see down at the arena. Her mouth turned into a frown but then she had an idea and stood up on the chair. There, now she was almost as tall as everybody, but she could definitely see a lot better.
"Shorty." Ryan said as he smiled at her.
"You're just jealous 'cause you can't get on the chair."
"Oh, I'm much more jealous of the chair, I like to be under." He responded.
"Is that what she said?" Leila smirked.
"She did." Ryan laughed.
The game started and Leila noticed that Michael was having a stare down with Allison, she didn't want to intrude at their staring game so she looked at the match before her and got sucked into the world of beach volleyball..

"Well that was such an amazing match!" Ryan said as Leila got down.
"It really was. They are just amazing them two." Allison chimed in.
"So, the US got the gold and the silver. Go figure." Leila said as she smiled.
"Don't feel so bad, Brazil got the bronze! So both of your countries got a medal at least." Ryan exclaimed.
"So true on so many levels. That was fun though, such a rush let me tell you." Leila responded.
Michael had been silent throughout the trio's conversation and Leila couldn't help but think that he had something on his mind. Maybe he needed to talk to someone about it? Allison was walking in front of her with Ryan on her side and Michael behind Leila. She guessed he didn't really want to talk to her, but she didn't understand why he didn't talk to her..he didn't even ask her for an apology; not that she was going to give him one. He confused her and she had only talked to him once! She shrugged her frustration from her shoulders as she tried to listen to the argument that Allison and Ryan where having,
"-but Sean Connery makes a way better James Bond than Daniel Craig." Allison said.
"Sean Connery is awesome if you're like eighty years old." Ryan said.
"Whatever. Daniel Craig based his James Bond acting on Sean Connery. You're just jealous you're not a spy." She retorted as she laughed.
"No. I'm jealous that he gets all those fun toys and everything for free." Ryan chuckled.
"Whatever Ryan. Sean Connery wins."
"Daniel Craig. We should take a poll." Ryan offered.
"Nah, people will be all 'ooh Ryan Lochte likes Daniel Craig so I'm going to vote for him.' As if." Allison said.
They were making their way out of the arena when Michael started speaking on the phone and Leila not wanting to get in his privacy decided to move up with Ryan and Allison. Both of them continued to bicker about which James Bond was better and she didn't really have an opinion. Daniel Craig and Sean Connery were different people; they each had different styles so it's not like she could compare them. They both looked really amazing in a speedo. Leila smiled at herself when all of the sudden it happened. One second she was standing up vertically when the next she was horizontally on the ground. Her eyes looked over at both of her arms and her left hand along with her arm had been scraped. The wound on her hand looked worse than it felt like, but a few pieces of skin had been swept away. Her arm looked like someone had scratched it with their thick finger nails. A rock must have hit it or something.
"Dude. Leila! Are you okay?" Ryan said as he knelt down in front of her.
"Uh. I think so. How did I get hit again?" She asked sitting up slowly.
"This guy on this bicycle was coming and I guess you didn't see each other and bam! Next thing you're on the ground. It was like ten seconds of action packed stuff."
"Wow. I didn't even feel the impact...I'll definitely feel it tomorrow." Leila said as Ryan and Allison helped her up.
"You look like a mess, I better take you to your hotel and clean you up." Ryan said. Allison nodded as Michael interrupted, "actually I can do that. I have some first aid kit stuff in my room and our hotel is closer anyway Ryan. You and Allison can go eat something since I'm sure you guys are already hungry. I swear, you guys eat more than I do."
Leila looked at Michael: could she get away from this?
"Nathan made me promise to get her home safe," his hand still around her scratch free arm.
"She will. I'll even let him know when she is." Michael spoke calmly. Maybe he wasn't mad at her.
"Text me and then I'll text him." Ryan said.
"You got it Lochte."
The aftershock was wearing off and Leila's hand was hurting now. She held it with her right ever so lightly as to not put pressure on it, "way to entertain me Brazil. We shall see each other again soon.. I hope." Ryan said as he hugged her.
"Same here girlie. I'll get your number from Rebs when I get back to the hotel so we can keep in touch." Allison hugged Leila.
"Have fun guys! I'm glad I can entertain you with my clumsiness." She laughed.

Her green orbs looked at Michael; this was going to be very interesting. "Let's go clean that up, I don't want it to get infected or anything." Michael said.
"How did you do that?" Leila asked.
"Do what?"
"You were on the phone like two seconds ago.."
"I hung up just in time to see everything." He replied as he walked next to Leila. He was so tall she thought; who was she kidding. Everybody was tall around her.
"Well I'm glad I could entertain you as well," she said with an edge to her voice.
"I'm not the one that fell okay? That guy should have seen where he was going."
"Same here, I wasn't really looking." The blonde stated.
"It happens."
"So...how was your day?" She asked as they continued to walk. Leila could see the hotel from where they were at.
"Weird. I didn't swim and it just felt..weird." He chuckled.
Such a deep voice, Leila was a killer for a deep voice.
"Interesting. That must have been fun."
"What do you mean?" He asked her.
"Well, going out into the 'world' I guess you could say. The pool has always been your comfort zone and then all of the sudden you can't just go there and hide from the world..just interesting is all."
"Stop being a fortune cookie." Michael Phelps told her. Good thing it was late at night or else she was sure that a million people would ask him for his autograph.
"Sorry, it's what I'm used to."
"Well get unused to it.."
"It's not something that I plan to do, it just happens!" Leila exclaimed.
"Well then, we can either talk about something else, or you can sing or something. I have a terrible voice.." Michael replied.
The Olympic medalist and the Brazilian were really close to the hotel as Leila began to sing, "the seaweed is always greener, in somebody else's place-"
"I guess you didn't want to talk.." Michael chuckled.
"You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake. Just look at the world around you, right here on the ocean floor. Such wonderful things about you, what more is you looking for? Under the sea. Under the sea. Darling it's better down where it's wetter take it from me. Up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away..." Leila stopped as Michael just kept chuckling at her body movements to the song.
"Oh no, please, keep going. This is quite the show." He said as he clapped his hands.
"No. Sixteen year old selfish girls aren't really my thing."
"Oh? Then why did you sing that song?"
"It just popped into my head. I'm done though really." They reached the elevator now as they both went inside and Michael pressed the button of his floor.
"That looks like it hurts," Michael said.
"Thanks Captain Obvious." Leila said sternly.
"You're so welcome."
"Don't you have anything better to do than take care of a stranger's wounded left arm?" Leila asked as they stepped out and followed Michael to the door.
"Honestly. No. You're not a stranger..I feel like I practically know you from Reb's way of talking about you."
"Haha. She's funny that Rebecca Soni. It's probably all lies.."
"So it's a lie that she said that you go to John Hopkins and you're working on your master's for education?"
"No. That's true," Leila chuckled as she followed Michael into his room.
"So she wasn't lying and she isn't lying. Here sit on my bed." Michael said as he went into the bathroom to get the first aid kit stuff.
Like most full grown men's room, clothes were scattered everywhere and bottles of water and gatorade along with towels. Leila sad down on the bed and wondered how he was able to sleep on that, it was super tiny. More like her size. His roommate wasn't here and Michael came as soon as he went coming back with a box and a bottle of something. He brought a chair and sat down on it.
"This would probably be better if you would take your sweater off, I don't want to ruin it." He stated.
Leila hesitated at first, but then slowly and carefully she took her sweater off revealing a simple white tank top, "better?"
"Yes. now let me see your hand first." Michael replied. His phone started ringing again, but Michael ignored it.
"You're not going to answer that?"
"Nope."
"What if it was your mom?"
"That's not her ringtone."
"What if it was someone speaking in behalf of your mom?"
"Doubt it. Debs likes to call me herself."
"She could be dying..." Leila said.
"I know that she isn't okay?" Michael said as he chuckled. Leila put her hand on his and he moved it around slowly until she winced a little, "it might be lightly sprained..I'll clean your cuts for you and I'll put a band aid on them, but you might need to get a brace."
"Okay. What's that bottle of?"
"Oxygenated water, it's not going to burn or anything." He said. Leila nodded as she noticed that Michael was very focused on the task at hand. She laughed at her pun but was impressed that he was doing it so delicately. His touch was like a feather and where he touched her skin would instantly feel warm. He put the water on a cotton swab and lightly, he rubbed it on her skin as she watched his face. It was focused, calm; like when he was about to race, "why did you go on a date with Adrian?" Michael randomly asked.
"Where's your arm candy?" Leila retorted.
"What?" He asked.
"Why are you asking me about Adrian? I thought you weren't paying attention." Leila said.
"I'm not as dumb as everyone thinks I am."
"I don't think you're dumb.." Her green eyes looked at his brown ones. "It's just that I don't think it's any of your business."
He moved to her arm as she saw that he was thinking of what to say next, "you're right. It's none of my business."
"So then. Why do you care?" She asked feeling her cheeks flush. Was he interested?
"That. Is the million dollar question." Michael responded while he put the band-aids on her hand and arm.

Million dollar question indeed.
