Two Part Harmony

Present

I went over to where Ryan was staying to have a little chat with him. When I knocked Haley answered the door and rolled her eyes at me. “You’re the bitch who he keeps talking about. Listen there is no need to be jealous that he is a way better musician than you ever will be.” I knew I would be friends with this slut, but did she really need to start with an insult.

“I’m not jealous because I am a better musician than he is.” She was mixing up jealousy and hatred.

“Really than why did he get a record deal and you didn’t?”

“You don’t know what really happened that night he was offered a record deal. Plus I have been offered several, but I don’t want the fame getting to my head and end up like you.”

“Whatever Ryan is mine and he is not interested in you anymore, so leave him alone.” I wanted to slap her across the face.

“Trust me he doesn’t care for you.”

“Well he threw you away like yesterdays garbage, so move on.”

“I have moved on.”

She shrugged her shoulders and slammed the door in my face. I felt like I was about to cry, but I had to hold it back because I didn’t want to look weak. I knocked on the door again and she answered with

“What the hell are you still doing here?”

“I lied, I haven’t moved on only because I know we are soul mates.”
