“Up next is Jaelynn singing her new song.” Tracy the owner of the Coffee House announced. I went up and sat on that stool hoping that Ryan was around, so I could see his reaction to hearing me sing again. Once I found him with his obnoxious girlfriend I couldn’t help, but smile at his shocked expression. Then I began to sing one of the many songs I wrote about Ryan, but have waited for him to be here to perform them.
The fact that the smile on his face faded away meant that he knew the song was about him. He knew my best songs were the ones that came from real life experiences. I don’t really have many songs that are about my life, but there were a few and they were about him.
