In the end I couldn’t resist it anymore and I began to read through her mind, I just wanted to know if she remembered me in any sort of way. That’s when I saw it, she knew the plan! As if the Government had asked for help from the Mutants, they hated us and then expected us to help them? A new found rage began to form in the bottom of my stomach, rage that they thought we were just slaves to them, and a rage that Charles got her involved in all this bull shit. He had no right to do such a thing, this was my baby sister and he had promised to take care of her.

Another down side I found to her spending too much time with Charles what that she had finally figured out the signs of when someone is going through her mind. This meant I had to make a quick decision, a decision that might end up being bad I the future. This was all in order to save my sister; all we had to do was killing the president and then quickly return to Hatzazel so we can teleport back.

I could see in the corner of my eye just before I ran off, that she had turned around. The last thing I heard before turning the corner was the sound of a door opening. I still ran though, I couldn’t risk her seeing me in case it broke the barrier in her memories. I think I remembered where Erik was located to shoot the president…

I finally arrived at a large crowd, instead of doing the long tiring way of running around and scanning everyone’s face, I just used my mind power to locate the metal bender. Turned out he was dressed in a polo shirt with some brown pants and a blue cap which covered his face. I quickly ran towards him, “Erik.” I whispered with my hand on his chest, only just realizing how muscly he was. I shook the thought from my head and went back to serious matters, “Charles is here and he knows we’re here as well!”

He sent me a smirk, as if he wasn’t worried at all about anything that could possibly happen. He was so annoying and at the same time, for some reason he was kind of attractive. The bastard. He then raised his fist and opened the palm of his hand, showing a large number of bullets. Still looking me in the eyes, he began to use his ability and force the metal to fly through the air at almost an impossible speed. It went straight through the president’s head, then the governor. I heard the president’s wife scream out, I almost felt sad for her. But, I wasn’t the one who sent the bullets and as such it isn’t my fault… right?

“Erik we need to go!” I pulled at his arm, using the frantic calls and panicked survillians as a cover. We weren’t the only ones running away so we would look like just one of the people in the crowd. “Where’s Hatzazel?” I questioned while running around with Erik behind me. Instead of giving me an answer, he grabbed hold of my hand and guided me through different corners until we finally came to the red Mutants station.

We were about to leave when suddenly I heard a bird screech wildly, I knew instantly knew who it was. What I didn’t expect was for Fera to send a whole pack of birds to attack us, “she has a new ability!” I yelled out while trying got block the pecks with my arms. Once the birds finally dispersed I was unexpectedly locked in place, the good news is that my face is covered by my hair.

Before I knew it though, we were back in the metal room with my sister in Erik’s hand. I could just punch him; I could literally rip his testicles off! How could he even think that bringing her here would be at all a good idea?! “Eric! A word!” I once again pulled at his harm, storming out of the room after he harshly dropped my sister on the ground. “What are you doing? She can’t be here. She might remember me, she needs a good life! That’s why I left her there, why would you bring her here?!”

He raised an eye-brow at the authority I held in the tone of my voice, did e seriously think that he could just push me around? I could easily escape this place if I wanted to. “I did the job you failed to do,” that’s when I realized it. This man knew that Charles would find out, and that my sister would be brought along. He wanted my sister here, and I had been stupid to even think about trusting someone other than my sister.

“Why do you need her here?” My arms were thrown in to the air, exasperated with the metal bender.

He smirked and replied with, “the more the merrier, love.”

I could just slap him, what the hell is wrong with his brain?! Then the older sister instinct kicked in and I realized I had to get her out of here and back to the mansion. If I could convince him that I was enough then perhaps he would let her go. “Please Erik; she isn’t even as close to as powerful as I am.” He raised a quirky eye-brow at the sudden mode change. “I am more capable and have better powers then she will ever have, she doesn’t need to get in to any of this. Trust me.”

The look on his face told me that he was definitely thinking about my proposal. Eye’s watching me like a hawk, the cogs turned in his head as he thought about the variables. I can’t believe I stooped so low but before he could indefinitely make a decision I put on a puppy dog facial expression and pouted slightly, the word ‘please’ seeping from my lips.

He couldn’t help the grin that grew on his face at the adorable act I had done, “and you promise you will stay, if you don’t I can promise you the death of your sister.” That sentence had basically ensured my loyalty. As much as I hated him right now, I had no choice as long as I protected Fera. To make the deal ‘official’ we both shook hands and nodded our heads in sync. Acting like true professionals as you can see.

“I want a minute with her before you send her away okay?” I didn’t really give him a choice and just walked back in to the room to find Hatzazel holding a tiger in his hands, he was trying to keep her far away from him and already had a few cuts on his body. “Stand down soldier.”

I had learnt a technique to calm her down from the large number of years I spent with her, I took her in my arms and then pressed two fingers to my forehead. I searched through her memories to find the fondest one in her brains, it used to be me and her when we were little. Sat on some swing sets and talking about what he hoped in the future, dreams that would never be achieved because the human race couldn’t handle just how amazing we Mutants exceed their normality.

However, now it was her first date/dinner thing with Charles, at least he was having some sort of helpful effect on her I suppose. In a few seconds she transformed back in to a human, I took of the zip-up jacket and handed it to her, trying to keep the hair in my face. “Thanks,” she said, confused at my action.

Of course, all that I was to her was a Mutant revolting against the rules in a way that is probably illegal in every state. “Listen okay, I want you to promise me something.” Before she could speak, I spoke up and over her voice, “I know you think I’m just some common criminal, but I really just need to be sure that you’ll be okay in the future. In any future plans that include Erik or any other bad person for that matter, please for the love of god, just stay out of it. For your own safety.”

She looked at me questioningly, and within her eyes I saw a fire. A burning fire that told me, even if she did promise me, it would just be a lie. Maybe that’s why being on the inside of the dark side is a good thing, I can ensure her safety from inside this place, hopefully. “Who are you?” Fera asked with a high pitched voice, the sound of her voice pulling at my heart strings, knowing I wouldn’t be able to hear the voice of my younger sister ever again. It was hard enough the first time. She keep trying to see through my blonde hair, but I wouldn’t allow it and turned around.#

“Just a friend,” the words were difficult enough to think of before I even said them. Why did this have to end this way. “Hatzazel, take her back to Charles’ mansion okay?”

He nodded and sent a sympathetic look towards me at least that was an upside of being stuck in the bad gang forever. The members weren’t so bad, sure they had evil insights on the world. But their personalities weren’t’ all that bad, they were mostly kind. He moved towards my sister and the last thing I saw of her was a little girl, looking as lost as the first day we set off on this wild journey. The length of my jacket formed a dress over her small figure and her brown hair was really scruffy. She looked at me one last time, trying to figure out who I was.

Then, in a puff of red smoke. My beloved little sister was gone.
