Trust -26

Trust
“A-Arthur?” she looked up at the pink haired man, tears welling in her eyes.
“Don’t you trust me, love?” he asked her holding out a cupcake to her face. He looked genuinely hurt and it pained her to see, so she threw caution to the wind and nodded.
“Yes, Arthur, of course I do.”
“Then please try my cupcakes, I’ve made them especially for you. I hope you like it.” She smiled a strained smile and bit the cake he held to her mouth. And to her surprise it didn’t taste bad, or funny. This made her happy so she really threw all caution and common sense out of the window and smiled a genuine smile,
“It tastes wonderful Arthur! I don’t know why I ever doubted you.” She added, her eyes missing the two dead bodies in the room behind her cupcake baking Englishman.
“I’m so happy you decided to come over when you did, and I’m even happier you tried the cupcake. Now you just go to sleep and we’ll forget earlier ever happened.” She tilted her head in confusion,
“What happened earlier?” he petted the top of her head as her eye lids drooped, kissing her forehead.
“Precisely, poppet, when you trust me nothing else matters, does it?” she shook her head as she fell into a deep slumber,
“I trust you, Artie.”
