I Miss You, I'm So Sorry

You Make Me Feel Like I'm Living A Teenage Dream

Jack's P.O.V.

Though Alex was still avoiding Jack and his calls like the plague, it was somewhat reassuring for Jack knowing that Alex didn't actually love Craig.

Of course just because he love Craig, that didn't automatically mean that he still loved Jack, but it was a start right? All he needed was Craig out of the way now, then he could put his plan of winning Alex over into action.

He also needed an actual plan.

It was Alex's birthday in two days, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for Jack to show Alex just how much he still cares about him. But Jack was still at a loss as of how to do that.

"RIANNNN!"

Not wanting to move his lay ass off the couch, Jack hollered for the man upstairs until he came skidding through the living room door, a panicked look upon his face.

"What is it, whats wrong?! Wheres the emergency?!"

"Right here, sit down."

Rian rolled his eyes, obviously realizing that there was no real reason for Jack to be hollering his name like that. Only that he was a lazy bugger.

"Right, now that I have your attention, I desperately need your help."

"What could possibly be so urgent that you felt the need to make it sound like my house was on fire?"

Jack ignored Rian's comment, throwing his head back against the sofa and sighing dramatically. Rian rolled his eyes again, but waited patiently for Jack to speak.

"Right, we both know that Alex's boyfriend is no good for him, and that I would fill that space a lot better than he does. BUT there is the small problem in that I still haven't won him over with my irresistible charm. It's his birthday on Tuesday as I'm sure you know, and I need ideas. What does he like these days? I need your helppp Riannn."

Rian scratched his chin thoughtfully, puffing out his cheeks and making a noise that suggested that he too was at a loss of ideas.

"Well I don't know Jack man, I'm only recently friends with the guy again. I don't even know why you're asking me this anyway, you don't need help with this. You know him better than anyone, probably better than he knows himself. You'll think of something."

Just as Jack was about to moan at Rian for being absolutely no help at all, Rian got up and left the room, ruffling Jacks hair as he left. Jack chucked a pillow at the spot on the sofa where Rian had been sat previously, and huffed as he desperately wracked his brains, wishing he'd started to prepare for this earlier.

Alex's P.O.V.

"Alex!"

Alex groaned inwardly at the sound of Craig's voice, forcing a false smile onto his face and turning around to face his boyfriend.

"Look babe I'm really sorry but I've just realized I'm not going to be here for your birthday this year... Its the week my mum wants me to visit her, I'm meant to be leaving tomorrow."

Craig's mum had moved to Florida about 2 years ago, and Craig had been pretty cut up about it. He was a bit of a mummy's boy, so his mum was always making him come and visit her as often as she could.

"Nah its fine, I wasn't planning on doing anything too extravagant for my birthday anyway."

In fact the idea of a birthday away from Craig was very inviting. Sometimes he just needed some time away from the guy, it wasn't like they ever had very fulfilling conversations anyway, they had too little in common.

"Okay, as long as you don't mind. I should probably get home actually, I need to pack my suitcase."

He scurried forward nervously and wrapped his arms around Alex's neck, sighing as he rested his head on Alex's chest.
When he leant upwards for a kiss Alex reluctantly gave him a quick peck, only to have his head held in place by Craig's hand.

Seeing that he wasn't about to get out of this easily, Alex gave in to Craig's tongue that was probing at his bottom lip, letting the two muscles rub against each other. After about a minute however, Alex began too grow tired of the kiss.

It wasn't that Alex thought Craig was a bad kisser, because he wasn't. Alex put it down to the fact that he wasn't in the mood to be kissing anybody right now.

Or maybe it was because he was kissing the wrong pair of lips.

After about 5 minutes of ushering Craig out of the door, Alex finally locked it behind Craig's retreating figure, sighing with relief as he did so.

Finally somewhat able to relax slightly, Alex collapsed down onto the sofa, letting out a frustrated groan because the second he sat down his phone started to ring.

Fishing it out of his pocket carefully, Alex couldn't help but smile at the name that appeared on the screen.

He couldn't help but admire Jack's spirit and dedication, even if Alex was practically ignoring him.

Jack's P.O.V.

Just as Jack had admitted defeat and was about to give up, an idea finally came to him. He had been lazing around the house like he pretty much always did, when he came to a sudden realization that nearly had him falling off the sofa.

Blink 182 were on tour at the moment

The show that was on Alex's actual birthday was sold out, so Jack figured the one for the night after was the next best thing. They would have to travel a little while, but Jack was looking to spend as much time with Alex as possible so that wasn't a problem.

*flashback*

The clock on the bedside table beside the two boys read 3:00am, but neither of them had reached the point of tiredness.

They had been hanging upside down off the edge of Alex's bed for about half an hour now, just chatting about nothing important, watching the time pass by.

Alex pulled his body up so that he was now sat upright on the bed, and turned to pull Jack up by the hand so that they could face each other.

"Right, describe the best day ever to me."

Alex thought about the question for a moment, twirling his hair between his fingers and chewing his lip cutely.

"Well... you know those adorable little VW campers? I would totally hire one of those for the day, and just go driving to all the best places in it with the radio blaring. Then I would drive out to a Blink concert, and after that find some hill to park up on and sleep out under the stars. All with you of course, I could never go to a Blink concert without you."

Jack had to admit, that did sound like a pretty perfect day. And the part he added at the end about spending it with Jack gave the older boy butterflies.

"That sounds like a pretty perfect day to me."

Alex smiled at him, his adorable little dimples appearing on his cheeks.

"Who knows, maybe one day we could do it."
