Live As If We Died

Nine

"Woman!" Jaime screamed on the other end of the phone. "Where the hell are you?" I was currently making my way through JFK airport in order to hop on a small leg of the tour with Pierce The Veil. It wasn't my decision, nor was it Mike's - it was in fact Jaime and Tony's, though.

"I'm right here," I sighed and looked forward at the Mexican with his neck craned trying to scan the airport.

"Where?"

"Dumbass, look in front of you... floral pants and really high heels." Finally, his eyes met with mine and his jaw dropped of shock. He walked up to me as slow as he could, trying to figure out what happened and yet to end the call with the phone still pressed to his ear.

"Does Mike know you did this?" I chuckled at his question.

"Does my boyfriend need to know every time I do something like this?" This was referring to the drastic change in my hair. It was now blonde and almost up past my shoulders with beachy waves instead of straight locks. I smiled at Jaime, waiting for him to say something, but nothing was coming out.

"I didn't even recognize you, Jules," he finally laughed and shook it off. He pulled me close to him with his arm around my shoulder and picked my bag up and away from me. "I missed you."

"You have no idea, Himes," I smiled sweetly and kissed his cheek. The house was getting rather boring the past few weeks without the guys constantly coming in and out. I missed Mike more than I thought I would, especially since our relationship was only in its second month still. I guess when you're with someone day in and day out, it makes it much harder on you. It was a big house, not huge, but big enough to feel jumpy at the drop of a hat at night and big enough to feel lonely with every step you take.

"Uh," I heard Vic's voice as he stepped into the bus. He stopped in his tracks, but my back was turned towards him. "Who?" He asked Jaime in a whisper that I could make out.

"Victor!" I shouted finally. His reaction was the same one that Jaime had, but a tad different. "Damn girl," he laughed after the initial shock wore down, "you look good. Wanna switch brothers for a while?" I punched his arm jokingly and we started talking about the last few weeks of tour and how everyone was holding up so far.

Finally, the face I was longing to see the entire time stepped onto the bus. He bit his lip for a second while I smiled nervously at him. Finally, I stood up and he ran up to me, closing the gap and lifting me up off the ground. He rested his forehead against mine for a second and finally spoke. "I missed you, blondie," he kissed me. I had been aching for his lips for three weeks straight and longing for his arms to be wrapped around me, and he was finally here in front of me. I didn't know how to react other than wear a smile that reached my ears, blush, and kiss him back. I never wanted to let him go.

"I missed you too," I smiled when our lips finally disconnected from each others. He put me back on the ground and took my hand, lifting it above my head so he could make me twirl in a full circle.

"Huh," his brow knit together, "I like it." He gave me a cheeky smile and leaned into kiss my forehead. I couldn't help but blush.

"Thank you," I said. "Jaime hates it and your brother wishes to be you."

"Vic has always wanted to me, so don't worry about it." He chuckled and took my hand, dragging me into the back lounge. I heard Vic scoff as we walked away from the boys in the front.

"Shit, Miss Jaffe, I've missed you so much," Mike smiled at me and cupped my face in his hand. He just looked at me like he was trying to take a mental picture, like this was the last time he was ever going to see me again.

"It hasn't been that long, Michael," I stuck my tongue out at him. He moved one of his arms down to the small of my back and placed his other hand on the back of my head, pulling me close into his chest. Even with the heels I was wearing, he hovered over me like a skyscraper. I missed his scent more than anything in the world, so I stood there and held him close to me. As boring as the situation was, I couldn't help but not wanting the moment to end.

"It's been long enough, baby," he finally responded to me with his lips pressed against the top of my head. I gripped on to him even tighter than I had before. He was right, it was too long. "Ready for tonight?" He asked me.

"What's tonight?" He let go to sit down on the leather couch and pulled me down with him, setting me perfectly on his lap. I leaned my head into the crook of his neck and stroked his neck with my thumb.

"Seeing as we have a day off tomorrow and we're in New York, I say we can do anything you want after the show," he said as if he had no plans whatsoever. "I just want to spend time with you. Plus, you get to see me get all sweaty on stage!" He sounded like an overly excited child getting candy when he finished his sentence.

"You're weird," I laughed at him. "But, I think I can think of a few things to do in the next 24 hours." I winked and he kissed me softly. With each kiss, my stomach got more and more filled with butterflies. I was more than overjoyed to be back by his side for a few days.
