Forgive Me

"When will we have our wedding?" I asked Brent.
"Whenever you want."
"Like in the fall when the leaves change colors?"
"If that's when you want to then I say hell yeah."

I smiled and pecked his cheek.
We'd gotten so close.
I practically fell in love with him all over again.
He gave up his music career and is doing online schooling for EMT/ Firefighter.
I don't mind at all just means i'll be married to a hot sexy fire man.
Elijah completely forgot about the kidnapping incident.
He'd practically forgot Travis even existed.
In his mind Brent is his daddy and nobody can take that away from him.
Which I think is so adorable.
They play cars all the time.
Elijah has gotten into Batman.
He says Superman is stupid now.
Little kids...
Always changing.
Elijah's sixth birthday is coming up.
Brent and I have planned on giving him a Batman party and Brent decides to dress up at Batman for him.
I can't wait to see that.
I have a family.
A happy one.
Finally.
I can't believe it.

I was making dinner when Brent walked in.

"I forgot to tell you."
"To tell me what?"
"Well its not really a statement but a question.."
"Go on."
"Forgive Me. For everything I put you through. For running when we were seventeen. I am so happy I came back. I love you more than the world. Just please Forgive Me."

I smiled and smashed my lips to his as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
I broke the kiss and looked at him.

"Of course. I love you."

He smiled and spun around as we kissed.
I loved this.
So much.
I forgave him.
Why?
Because I love him and he proved to me he could be the father and the husband I needed.
