I could be a lit pipe bomb or your best friend, if I felt like it. 'Unpredictable' was practically stamped on my forehead at birth, right along with 'Independent'. ''Let me in,'' he'd ask every now and again, but what he wouldn't understand is that he was wasting his time. I was a sealed brick wall with too many ''quirks'' to find desirable. It was a wonder that he stuck around for as long as he did.
It was also a wonder that I hadn't pushed him out a window.
