I'm Looking for Something More Than This

“No way!” I yelled.

“Yes! It’s true! Let It Be is by far the best album the Beatles put out,” Nathan battled.

“No, Help! is definitely the best,” I argued.

“It’s not true! That’s rubbish!” He said making us both laugh.

“It was so revolutionary though, Kendall agrees with me,” I told him.

“Well Max agrees with me that Let It Be is the best,” Nathan replied.

“It’s okay Nathan, just admit I’m right,” We both laughed.

The two of us were engulfed in laughs as we sat on the bus. I can’t believe this guy, he’s so funny. He’s like my little brother…even though he’s only a year younger than me.

“Where’s Soph?” He spoke up.

“Um, I don’t know. I thought she was just going to the bathroom but she didn’t come back,” I said.

“I should go check on her,” Nathan told me but right then Kendall walked in.

“Hey what are you doing?” I beamed, seeing him step inside.

“I just decided I wanted to come hang back here,” He shrugged, making me feel incredibly happy. “Where is Sophie?”

“I think in the back, I was just going to check and see,” Nathan spoke up.

“Okay, I’m going to go find her,” Kendall said, disappearing into the back.

My heart dropped as he said those words. He totally likes her, I can tell and I’m not going to lie, I’m jealous. I not only am hurt because I have always liked Kendall but him and I are like best friends and now I feel…replaced.

“Nathan, are you okay?” I asked, seeing his face crinkled up.

“What?” He asked with his accent coming through. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

“You look upset,” I prodded.

“No, really I just…” Nathan trailed off, plopping down, gazing toward the door Kendall disappeared behind.

“You like Sophie don’t you?” I grinned.

”WHAT?” He yelled. “No! Wait…how did you know?”

“I didn’t,” I giggled. “I just guessed but now I know for sure.”

“It doesn’t matter,” Nathan pouted.

“Why not?” I cooed.

“Because her and Kendall are into each other,” He groaned.

“Oh, you think so too?” I sighed, secretly hoping that I was just imaging it but they really did.

“They hang out a lot, so it seems like it now,” Nathan shrugged.

“Aw,” I cooed, reaching over to hug him. “You guys would be so cute though.”

“Just…don’t tell anyone Kirstie. I don’t anyone to know,” He said.

“Your secret is safe with me,” I grinned, giving him another hug.

I think it’s really cute that Nathan is crushing on Sophie but I feel bad for him because I know exactly how he feels.
