Lonely Boy

Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting

“How’s he doing?” I ask Mom when she gets in the car.

She smiles. “He’s doing well; he’s gotten a lot better.”

Mom loves it when her patients improve. She knows it’s a process, but she never gives up. I can’t help but admire her for that.

“Mom, what –,” I say before she cuts me off. “Mila, honey, I’ve told you before that I can’t tell you about what is discussed. He’ll tell you when he’s ready.”

I sigh and lean my head against the cold glass window.
