How I Met Your Mother.

Chapter 1

The sound of a child’s laughter filled my ears as I looked up briefly from my guitar to see Spongebob and Patrick up to their usual antics to annoy Squiward. I laughed, shaking my head as I glanced down at my wristwatch. The time gleamed at me in red writing 9:00pm. I licked over my snakebites and placed my guitar aside, “Alright time for a bath and then bed, kiddo.”

Curly hair turned around, “Five more winutes, daddy. Pwease?”

I stared into a spitting image. Except for, my same green eyes. I laughed and wiped my hands down, standing up from the couch, “Sorry Haven, but I gave you five minutes. Five minutes ago,” I chortled and Haven huffed, crossing her small arms across her chest. I couldn’t help but smile. Until, an idea popped into my head, “I’ll tell you what? When, you finish your bath. I tell you a story. How does that sound, sweets?”

Haven lit up and turned her head to me, “Otay.” She said happily as I grinned at my precious offspring, “Awesome, high five!” I reached out my hand, bending down so she can slap it. Instead, I grabbed her and started blowing kisses on her tummy. “Ah,” she squealed as I continued attacking my daughter, “Daddy, stop!”

“Never!” I laughed evilly as Haven was sent into fits of laughter. Ichabod bounced around my feet, yapping as I finished my assault. Haven finished laughing and kissed my nose, “I wuv you, daddy.”

That made my heart race, “I love you too, baby doll.” I kissed her chubby cheek and Haven squealed. I grabbed the remote and turned off the tv as I hitched Haven on my hip. Ichabod followed right behind me, “Icky,” Haven chimed at the black puppy and he barked happily at her. I bounded up the stair and into the ensuite bathroom. I placed Haven down and she played Ichabod on the bathroom floor, giggling. I looked at my daughter and smiled to myself, before shaking my head. I sat at the edge of the tub, closing the drain and turning off the water. Making sure, it wasn’t too hot or too cold.

Haven’s bath toys began floating in the water as I poured a good amount of bubbles. Haven did love her bubbles. So, did Jimmy. I laughed thinking about the bubble fight my friend and daughter had. My thoughts went away as the water was good and ready to go. “Okay Haven, bath time!”

“Yay!” she beamed throwing up her chubby, short arms. I laughed at my daughter and helped her undress as I picked up my baby and put her in the tub. She squealed and began playing her toys, while I washed her. I couldn’t help but stare at the fact, Haven was a spinning image of Amanda and I combined. It was truly scary. But, this little girl was such a blessing to us. Time flew by and Haven was all clean with her teeth brushed and hair fixed. She was in her princess pajamas, Nichole and Brian got her for her 4th birthday. I tucked my baby girl into the bed as Ichabod was lying besides her. Haven had her stuffed ducky (obviously Jimmy got her that) underneath her arms as I kissed her forehead, “Night baby doll.”

As soon as I was about to get up, Haven chimed, “Daddy, you pwomised me a swory.” She scrunched her eyebrows together. I laughed and remember, “Oh, how can I forget.” I walked over to her bookcase and tried looking for something, “No daddy, I wants you to tell me a swory about mommy?”

My heart stopped and I turned around, “You want me to tell you a story about your mommy?”

Haven nodded her head and my heart pained. But, I gave her a bright smile, “Okay, I’ll tell you a story about your mommy.”

“Yay!” the five year old cheered as I sat at the edge of the bed. Haven laid her head down on the pillow, making her big green eyes reflect back at me. I glanced over to the picture of Amanda and I five years ago and began speaking, “Haven, this is how I met your mother….”

And you’re out!”

“What! I call total bullshit on that,” Justin exclaimed, throwing the bat down. “Justin, stop bitching. You’re out that was clearly a strike,” I retorted as the guys started bringing it in.

“No, it wasn’t!” he said childishly as Matt rolled his yellow eyes, “Dude, chill the fuck out. We’ll just do it again. No, need to cry about it.”

“Fuck you, Shadows. I wasn’t crying. You guys always cheat,” he exclaimed and his group of friends agreeing. “Look man, we’re playing a fair game here,” Brian exclaimed, holding his hands out. “Well, let’s play a real game then. Shall we?” Justin challenged.

“Fine!” Matt exclaimed and they shook on it. The guys and I huddled up. Before, Jimmy spoke, “Dude, we don’t have enough players!”

“Shit, he’s right. What are we going to do?” I exclaimed. Until, an angelic voice interrupted us, “I can be on your team?”

Four heads turned around and as soon as I did. I swear I saw an angel. The most beautiful girl stood in front of us with long hair in a ponytail, luscious red lips that looked good enough to kiss, caramel kissed skin that glistened in the sun, and a gorgeous brown eyes. I was into much on a daze. Until, Matt said, “Sure!”

I shook my head and tried to be smooth, “Only if you know how to play.”

She laughed (and it was beautiful), “I played softball all my life. Plus, baseball is my favorite sport.”

Jimmy slung his lanky arm around her, “I like you already.” He laughed, “You got a name?”

She stuck out her hand, “Conner…Amanda Conner.”

“I’m Jimmy or you can call me The Rev,” he smiled brightly. She shook his hand, “I’m Matthew. But, I hate that name. So, just call me, Matt,” Shadows spoke as Amanda laughed and nodded, “I’ll call you, Mattchew.”

“Fine with me,” his dimples flared as she poked one. “I’m Brian,” Syn smiled as she did too, “Nice to meet you, Brian.”

Lastly, it was me. Her brown eyes met my green ones and I flashed a half smile, “Hi, I’m Zacky.”

She blushed and shook my head, “Hi Zack.”

“Alright, are we done with introduction? Let’s play some ball!” Matt shouted as we were the first ones up at the plate. The game started intense, Jimmy, myself, and Brian were on all bases and it was Amanda’s turn to hit.

“Well why you don’t look at this, fellas. We have a girl playing,” Justin teased as his friends laughed.

“Just throw the ball, douche.” Amanda exclaimed and Justin glared, “Don’t call me a douche. You nigger.”

When, those words left his mouth. My blood boiled and I wanted to pound his face in, “Throw it!”

Justin threw the ball and Amanda swung her bat back and swing at the ball. It seemed like time wind down and the ball flew over everybody’s head. “Home run!” Matt exclaimed from the dug out.

Amanda dropped her bat and began running as Jimmy ran home, then myself, and then Brian. Justin threw his cap down and started swearing. When, Amanda made it home. She skipped up to him at the pitcher mount and smiled, “Don’t ever call me that name again.”

“Or else what?”

She smiled again, turned around and swung her fist back colliding it into his face. Justin crumpled to the ground, holding his broken nose and Jimmy chanted, “Justin got his ass handed to him by a girl.”
Everybody laughed as the guys congratulate Amanda. “I say we head to Johnny’s bar! You down, Manda?” Brian grinned as she nodded her head.

“I’d love too.”

The guys hollered and discussed on meeting there. Amanda was packing up her things as I cleared my throat. She turned her head and smiled, “Hi Zack.”

My name slipping her lips was amazing. I rubbed the back of my head and spoke, “I’m sorry about what Justin said back there. He’s a total dick.”

Amanda sighed and looked at me, “Its fine, I’ve heard worse names to me.”

My eyes widened and she shook her head, “I’m originally from the South. But, I moved her with my mom. When, my parents divorced a few months ago.”

“Oh, where in the South?” I asked curious. Amanda answered, “Tennessee.”

“That’s awesome!”

“Yeah.”

We both looked at each other and smiled. Before, she went back to fixing her things, “Amanda?”

“Yea—.” I interrupted by giving her a kiss. I thought she was going to slap me. But, she didn’t. Amanda only kissed me back. I pulled away and looked into her brown eyes, “I would never call you any bad names; Because, I don’t see anything different about you. Other than, how much I like you.”

Amanda smiled, “But, you just met me.”

I just shrugged, “But, I feel like I know you forever.”

Her smile grew and grabbed the back of my head, engulfing me into a kiss and that is when I knew

I was going to marry Amanda Conner

And this is the idea. I came up with because you really don't see a lot of stories on this. I just thought I'd try to write something new for a change. Like, I said in the disclaimer. If you get offended, please don't read. But other than that, I hope you enjoyed it. Feedback, :)
