Sequel: Unhinged

All of Me

Say My Endless Indecision Keeps You Up At Night

“So have you told her yet?” Kevin asked me.

I shook my head. “Nope, not yet.”

Graduation day was just around the corner and had been accepted into a college in Colorado. Colorado State University. I want to major in engineering and it would be perfect to do it there. Colorado is a beautiful state and I was definitely ready for a change of scenery. However, I’m unsure how D would react to me going to school out of state.

“You’d better tell her before she finds out from someone else.”

“I will, I will. Don’t worry about it.”

---

“Have you decided where you’re going yet?”

I shrugged, “I’m not sure. I was accepted into Colorado State.

Cassidy and I were talking again. She forgave me; I don’t know how or why she did but she did. D wasn’t too happy about it, but she was being understanding.

“Seriously?”

“Yeah, why?”

“That’s where I’m going!”

Great

“I don’t know if I’m going yet.” I said softly.

“What do you mean?”

I shrugged.

“This is about her isn’t it?”, she paused waiting for me to respond but I never did, “Nick she’ll be here when you get back. This is a great opportunity we’re talking about here. If she can’t see that, then maybe you shouldn’t be together.”

“I have to go.”

---

I saw D standing by her locker; I needed to tell her about Colorado.

"Hi." She greeted me with a kiss.

"Hey." I said, pushing some hair behind her ear.

“Are you alright?” She asked.

"I'm fine." I responded.

“This is our last year together.”

“That’s okay, soon I’ll be out of this hell hole and we can get on with our lives. I’ll take one lousy year. Do you know where you’re going to go to college?”

I shrugged, “I got accepted into CSU.”

“Nick that’s great!” She said, pulling me into a hug.

“I don’t know if I’m going yet though.”

“What? Why?”

"Because I don't...I don't want to leave you."

She pulled me into another hug.

"You should go Nick! Don’t let me hold you back." She said.

"I will think about it."

I kissed her.

“You better.”

"I love you." I told her.

"I love you too. Just promise me, that when you decide that you are going to CSU, I’ll be the first person you’ll tell.”

“I promise.”

Well that went extremely better than I had expected.
