On Christmas Day – Lilly had a rather incredible day.
She had plenty of presents, lots of family love, great food and generally lovely time. She ate too much food, drank a bit too much Sherry and soon became too competitive when they got Monopoly out later that evening.
She spoiled Jude with presents, and he was beside himself with excitement at all his new toys. She had bought Alex a sketch book and pencils for new designs, she bought Marley some vintage clothes from a thrift store, and some new makeup and perfume. She bought her father a history DVD box set – his weakness, and some Bailey’s and toffee chocolates – his other weaknesses.
When Lilly checked her phone that night, she found Facebook alerted her:
Elijah Redding wants to add you as a friend.
That was probably her best present.
And to think – fate, karma or whatever – this is how it all really started.
