Fight the Force

It was almost New Year now, and Lilly was relaxing at home, checking her horoscope online for a change – she checked it every day religiously.

The bleep on the computer, made Lilly click back on to her Facebook page.

Elijah Redding: Hey…

Lilly smiled slightly, and began to type back.

Lilly Edwards: Sup?

She watched as he typed back, her stomach tightening excitedly.

Elijah Redding: What are you doing for New Year?

Lilly Edwards: Staying in – my brother and his girlfriend are going out.

Elijah Redding: You babysitting or something?

Lilly Edwards: Nah, my Dad’s in too – we’ll just chill out together.

Elijah Redding: Sounds boring…you should come out.

Lilly Edwards: You asking me out?

Lilly grinned teasingly. She could tell this would wind him up.

Elijah Redding: No. Just feel bad for you. You’re 19 – you should live like one.

Unknowingly now – Elijah would eat his own words.

Lilly Edwards: Where shall I meet you then?

Elijah Redding: At the bar? I have an early work shift.

Lilly Edwards: Okay, see you then.

Elijah Redding: Bye! –signed out-

Lilly couldn’t stop smiling, she squealed lightly, as she jumped up and went downstairs to tell her Dad of her changing plans.
