Life's Complications

Chapter 19

"Cameron," I heard Jake yell, and I wasn't really going to stop him. That would give him the satisfaction of seeing me beg him which I was not going to do, not now and not ever. I was already walking away from watching my psycho math colleague and my boyfriend sort the picture out. Michael has to tell them all before I have to tell Cameron. Biology will be so Awkward and he was probably going to try to ask me what was going on and I am probably going to keep my mouth shut for Michael's sake. His disgusting, pitiful and overly repulsive sake which is named Fiona. But Michael was my friend no matter how sick I think this is. I don't know how much did Jake tell Cameron other than what was showing in the picture. I doubt that he would lie and make stuff up but I don't trust him.

"Okay class, this week's project is going to be our last." My teacher spoke. I could feel Cameron eyeing me. "Since this is going to be a 30% of your grade I need you to work extra hard."

The whole time of me fighting the urge to go and tell Cameron about the whole Michael and Fiona thing. The whole time of Cameron eyeing me as the teacher spoke about this project. The bell finally rang. I didn't expect Cameron to easily let me go. He held my wrist and waited till everyone left the room including the teacher. I got up and he stopped me.
"Sit." Cameron ordered.
"What?"
"I said sit."
I stared at him for a few seconds and he aimed to the seat and I sat down quietly.
"Is it true?"
"Is what true?" I asked.
"Don't play dumb, Alice." He said. "Is it true."
"Depending on what Jake told you." I asked.
"He told me exactly what was going on in the picture. Are you and Michael-"
"What?" I stopped him. "Of course not."
"Then why were you with him?"
"You cannot be jealous." I said. "Yes that was me and yes that was Michael. Big deal."

Cameron's POV
"It he was just thanking me." She said. "It's a friendly hug."
"Thanking you for what?" I asked.
She stayed quite for a few seconds and she bowed her head. "Alice," I said. "What's going on?"
"I- I can't tell you." She said.
"What do you mean?"
"I just can't tell you." She said. "I'm sorry."
I stared at her for a few seconds before realized what was being said. "Fine," I said before grabbing my bag and walking towards the door. "Maybe you shouldn't tell me, save the pain for the both of us."

I was walking towards the only person I didn't think I ever wanted to punch, but right now he is the only one I wanted to punch. "Michael." I said. He turned to face me with a smile.
"Hey what's up man." He said, lazily.
"Is there something going on between you and Alice?" I asked.
"No," He seemed shocked enough. "Why?"
"Jake told me a bunch of things. He spotted you two hugging and I swear to go-"
"What's your problem?" Michael cut me off.
"Right now, you are." I said, pushing him slightly. Slamming his back to his locker.
"Cameron!" I heard Alice shouting. "Just stop, what are you doing?!"
"Tell me the whole truth, or get the hell out of my life." I said, leaving them stranded with their thoughts. She was shocked by my outburst and I can see tears forming in her eyes. Those beautiful eyes and I hated myself inside but then thinking about them together like that burnt my insides. Alice walked away from Michael and I.

Alice's POV
I was in grass outside the school grounds. I was strangled with thoughts and emotions I couldn't quite comprehend. I heard footsteps behind me and a quite familiar voice.

"Hey." Zach greeted.
"Hey." I answered, wiping my tears with the hem of my jacket.
"So, I heard about the whole Cameron thing. Are you okay?" He asked.

I pulled my legs into my chest and resting my chin on my knees.

"You know, I've never see Cameron like this." He said. Truly shocked at his friend's reaction.
"What do you mean?" I sniffed.
"Well, he has been the happiest when he was with you." Zach said.
"That's not what he said." I sighed.
"That's was makes us humans, really. We say stuff we do not mean. That's why apologies are made."
"I just hugged Michael." I said. "Jake must've made stuff up and Cameron believed him."

I heard footsteps behind me and I instantly knew who it was from Zach's face expression.

Cameron's POV

"Zach, Could you excuse us for a minute?" I asked. Zach patted Alice's back and walked away. I sat next to her and looked straight. I lifted her chin up and saw the hurt in her eyes. She releases from me.
"Alice," I called for her and she looked at me. "I'm sorry." I could tell she didn't want to talk but all I wanted was her to be in my arms and smiling up at me. Seeing her getting hurt because of words I said that I didn't even mean killed me. "I didn't mean what I said."
"I know." She said.
"Why are you crying?" I asked.
"The fact that you don't believe me."

I looked at her firm eyes and the frown she had on and I couldn't help but press my lips against hers. I needed this. She was surprised at first but she continued. "I do believe you." I said. "I'm sorry."
She kissed me once again. I felt fireworks starting in the pit of my stomach. Once we parted, it stopped.

"If you don't want to tell me, that's fine." I said.
"I'm gonna tell you." She said.
"What?"
"I trust you." She said, that sent a smile up to my lips. "You're going to think this is all so crazy and believe me, I witnessed it. I caught Michael with ..... Fiona."
"What?!" Michael... and Fiona..... Together?
"Yeah, and I confronted Michael about it and he made me promise not to tell anyone. That's why I couldn't tell you." I nodded. "Well, when I promised him I wouldn't tell, he hugged me."
"And the twat took the picture?" I asked.
"Yes." I said.
I rubbed my temples. "I'm so sorry." I said. "I shouldn't have believed him, I barely know the guy."
"It's okay." She said. "I'm just glad that now you know."
I planted a kiss on her lips and smiled through it.

Alice's POV
"You can never tell anyone, cause if you did, Bryan would know." I told Cameron.
"Bryan? that jock dude?"
"Yeah."
"Oh yeah. I forgot she's dating him."

Cameron stopped for a minute.

"That means she cheating on Bryan.. with Michael." He said.
"Yep!"
"Woah, Michael's gonna get hurt."
"I know I warned him, but apparently she told him that she loves him and shit."

Cameron and I walked back inside the school and were able to ignore the eyes heading our direction. I mean, I don't blame them. Cameron was pissed.

"Look." I told Cameron.
"Where?!" Cameron shouted.
"Dude, SH!" I shushed him. I froze at the scene of Michael staring at us with his left eyebrow high as the sun.
"Hey, Michael." I said. "What uh, up?"
"Other than your eyebrow man, whoa." Cameron said. I couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"Alice, you told him didn't you?" Michael said.
"What?" I said, obviously lying. It was one of my flaws.
"Don't play dumb. You promised!" His voice was getting louder and louder and I was seriously petrified.
"Dude, chill." Cameron said. "I pushed her to tell me, okay? It's not her fault."
"Stay out of this, man." Michael said.
"No, I'll not stay out of this if you keep fucking attacking her." Cameron said.
"Cameron, it's fine."
"Yeah, I thought so." Michael said. "For future not Alice, don't make promises you obviously can't make."
