The Shadow in Darkness

One

'BOOM'. The thunder crackled above, but the boy running paid no mind to it, but instead simply grabbed on tighter onto his already soaked jacket that still faught to keep him warmth. The icy rain kept pouring down hard, and fast on him clearing his vision for a split second before his rapid blinking washed it away. A few minutes later the whole skied lit up only to go back to the same old dark midnight sky. The boy running couldn't help but get chills all over his body, and it wasn't because of his cold skin.

Jace was always one to be scared of thunderstorms ever since he was a kid. He was five when he went through his first one all by himself. When his parent's came home it was understatment to say they were surprised to find their only son skaking in a ball by the door in his own pee the babbysitter alseep oblivious as to what happened. Ever since that night Jace hasn't been able to go through a thunderstorm with at least one light on and of course shaking in fear.

'BOOM'. Another sound of thunder crackled but this time Jace was stopped, and looking up at a tall dark building. Bit's of the dark chipped wood fell off as the rain pounded on it. Jace ignored how the sky brightned again, and continued staring at the building that's like home to him. The old structure reminded some of the salem day's. The way it expanded at top before you saw a cross. Most people wouldn't call this place a church, but to Jace it was more than just some church. And even through storms the crows seemed to watch with hungry-like eyes. After another roar of thunder Jace snapped out of his daze, and pushed open the doors running inside hearing the loud slam telling him the doubled red doors were now closed.

"Father!" He called out pushing open the main doors leading into the service room. His wet shoes squished agaisnt the red carpet as he ran down the aisel his hand's barely grazing the white seats on his sides. "Father!" he called yet again his voice echoing through out the empty tall room. "He's not here kid." a voice snapped from behind Jace instantly making him freeze. Was someone here when i ran in? Was all that ran through Jace's head. Ever so slowly he turned seeing a boy around his age sitting in the far back corner his head down. Even with the distance between them Jace could still see his hair was a midnight black, and the fair pale skin. "Why did you call me a kid, when were around the same age?!" Jace yelled out confused, but the stranger merily let out a soft chuckle before he slowly rose revealing his height. He looked around 6'3 when Jace was only 6'0. Jace couldn't help but gulp at his height. "I have my reasons." was the only reply as the stranger slowly lifted his head. Jace immediatly took a step back and clutched the rosemary around his neck as he looked into the stranger's red eyes. Jace only blinked before re meeting the stranger's eyes seeing they were now a sea green. Weren't they just red a second ago?! Jace yelled in his mind. "What are you?" Jace managed to whisper but somehow the stranger heard. "Nothing important." was the reply and Jace took shaking steps back. "Who are you?!" he yelled and the stranger lifted their eyebrow. "Is someone affraid?" he asked tilting his head. Jace narrowed his eyes and grabbed on tighter onto his rosemary. "Not as long as the Lord is on my side!" he yelled confident making the stranger freeze in his steps. Jace let a small smirk play on his lips that quickly vanished as suddnely the stranger was nowhere to be seen. Jace being panicked was about to turn to look, but stopped when a hand was placed firmly on his shoulder. "One day your precious Lord won't be there." harsh words whisperd into Jace's ear sending chills all over. Jace struggled agasint the stranger his heart beating fast feeling the stranger's lips graze his neck. "L-let me go!" Jace yelled and he could feel the stanger's lips form into a smirk agaisnt his neck. Jace suddenly cried out feeling something sharp pierce his skin. Jace's eyes widened as he realized what was happening. He's sucking my blood! He screamed in his head. It hurt at first to Jace, but then soon he was fighting the urge to moan of pleasure. "Stop!" Jace suddenly yelled pulling away hearing something clatter to the floor. Jace quickly spun around seeing blood slidding down the stranger's chin. The stranger smirked before wiping the blood off. Jace's eyes were wide as he took steps back not knowing what just happend. "I know what your thinking and don't worry just because i bit you doesn't mean you'll turn into my kind." the stranger said and Jace narrowed his eyes. "There's no such things as vampires!" he yelled and the stranger's eyes narrowed. "You believe in God, but not the Devil?" he asked, but Jace turned and sprinted out of there. "You'll be back." was the only reply that escaped from smirked lips of the stranger's before he glanced down seeing a rosemary before he too was gone as if never even there.

But nobody noticed where the stranger once sat a body lay. A man in all black white in the middle of his colar. Bite marks on the side of his neck, blood drained still holding onto a bloody rosemary.
