Silence is Deadly

This Can't Be Happening

She screamed at me, ‘Shut up Alice!! You don’t know anything!!!’
I was so surprised; she was usually such a calm person. I looked into her fuming face-

And that was the last time I saw her.

Everything after that came in flashes, like something was interfering was channel of reception I was getting.

I remember Sam’s furious face… then feeling out of control as the steering wheel was wrenched out of my grasp. And the ear splitting scream coming from one, or maybe all of us, as we rolled down the side of the mountain.

I remember thinking, ‘Hurry up and end.’ We had been rolling down the hill for what seemed like forever, not a single tree big enough to stop the momentum behind us.

Then I remember darkness.

And silence.
