Looking back now, the three of us must have made an interesting spectacle- two men hurrying up the street with a teenage girl. At the time, however, it didn't matter. I was anxious to see Sally and Larry again, and I really just wanted to talk to her alone.

As we walked into the little house October had led us to, I wondered what exactly all of this was about. I was confused, and I didn't like the feeling.

The door swung shut behind us. "Mum, you'll never guess who's come round." October said hesitantly. Sally walked into the room, laughing over her shoulder, and then stopped dead.

"Hello, Sally.." I said quietly. She stepped up to me, her face calm, and slapped me hard.
