Crushed

This is a short story inspired from the legend of the Cherokee Rose.
According to the story, on the Trail of Tears, Cherokee mothers mourned for the loss of their children, who died from exposure, starvation or just got lost along the way. The cheifs prayed for a sign to keep the mothers going.
The next morning, whever the mothers' tears had fell, the Cherokee rose had bloomed.
