Not Your Average Possession

Chapter 2

The halls were empty as we made our way to her dorm room. It was dark, cold, and there was no sign of light anywhere.

"Why is it so dark?" I asked.

"Open your eyes you dimwit..." she said with her snappy voice from earlier, only this time, it was a bit less rude.

That explained it. I opened my eyes to see the light flooding in to my system. I couldn't remember closing my eyes though... Looking around, I saw that the room we were in was filled with posters, and that there was a bra hanging off the edge of the bed. I quickly shifted my eyes to the other side of the room where she stood, examining me from a distance.

"Um, why did I get possessed by a demon in the first place? Why not anyone else?" I said, hesitantly and quietly.

"Can't explain yet," she said, eyeing me carefully, "though, it seems that the demon wants something from you. Like maybe your soul or something. It's hard to read it's dark aura."

"You can read auras?" I asked very surprised.

"Yes, I am majoring in mental sciences and also possession." she replied.

"Interesting," I muttered while casually looking around the room.

I couldn't help but wonder about this possible demon possessing me. Why me? Was I just convenient for it at the time or was there a greater meaning to it? There were so many thoughts racing through my brain I couldn't help but ask one.

"So, how are we going to determine if I'm possessed by a demon or not and what we should do about it if I am?" I asked.

"Well, if you are possessed by a demon then we will have to determine how high ranking he or she is in hell. Then we will do some research and go from there. Now to see if you are possessed or not we will have to do something that the possible demon will not like at all, that thing involving the crucifix, no demon likes being touched by one because it hurts them."

"So you're telling me that you are going to have to touch a crucifix to me and if I start feeling total agony then I am possessed by a demon, but if I don't feel anything then I'm okay?" I blurted.

"In a nutshell, yes." she stated simply.

"Well then, let's get it over with, hurry up and skip to the pain." I said very unimpressed.

"If you say so." she said while grabbing a chair for me to sit on, "I have to grab my crucifix, so while I do that just sit down and make yourself comfortable."

"Alright." I said watching her leave the room.

Within a few moments she was back holding it in her hand. She walked over to me and then got on her knees so she was close to eye level with me.

"Are you ready?" she asked genuinely worried.

"As ready as I'll ever be." I laughed nervously.

"Okay, here we go." she said while bringing the crucifix closer and closer to my forehead, "Three, two, one."
