Set in the future, this is actually two stories following two characters. Marcus is a 19 year old boy who lives in the ruins of New York with his family when suddenly he and his siblings must leave. Together they venture forth to face a whole world they have never seen before.
Fuller is a few years older, and a member of a military funded program to exterminate vampires. But is there even a military anymore? Is there anyone out there anymore? When she is faced with the prospect of continuing the mission--a mission to take down the vampire king himself--she wonders if she is even strong enough to do it on her own.
But what happens when the two characters cross paths?
