Take One Last Breath

Sugar Tits

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
^*Kori’s POV*^
Soon after everyone dispersed. Well, I say dispersed, but I mean that Knoxville made a run for the door just as soon as Hanna and I finally put down the paintball guns, and then Novak, Dunn, and Hanna stalked off towards the kitchen, and I had headed upstairs for a shower. I didn’t spend long in there though in fear that Knoxville would come back for revenge. When I got out, I was on full alert until I got dressed, and then just as soon as I let my guard down to get my shoes on so I could go outside and grab some things from the shed to fuck with Novak-

“Gotcha!” Someone yelled and I was pushed forward off of the bed, and we both landed in the floor, the person still on my back.

“Get off of me!” I screamed, and brought my elbow back into the person’s face and they let go with a cry, falling off of me. I quickly got up, and as I went to kick whoever scared the fuck out of me in the face, I realized it was Bam.

“Goddamn Kori.” He groaned, holding his cheek.

“Oh my god, are you okay?” I asked and he shook his head slightly as he sat up and I kneeled beside him. “I didn’t know it was you, you fucking idiot, why did you sneak up on me?”

“The fuck did you think I was?” He asked and I sighed.

“Anyone besides you.” I said and he rolled his eyes.

“Well I’m not doing that again unless I’m armed with a knife.” He said and I laughed slightly.

“You wouldn’t be able to kill me.” I said and he smirked.

“Oh really?” He asked, knocking me back and I nodded as he kissed me on the lips.

“You care, remember?” I inquired and he sighed.

“Well fuck.” He just kissed me again and just as I was about to push him back to tell him to go shut the door-

“Hey K-” I heard Hanna’s voice and I didn’t think twice before starting to scream.

“Get the fuck off of me, you jackass!” I started fighting with Bam, trying to hit him and kick him, and he was caught off guard for a second, but quickly grabbed my hands.

“Stop struggling!” He yelled, and I kept struggling.

“What the fuck?!” Hanna yelled as he ran over and quickly pulled Bam of off me.

“He was going to fucking hang me off the roof!” I yelled, sitting up, as Hanna kept his arms locked with Bam’s, and on the inside I almost wish Bam had brought I knife so I could stab Hanna. Never had that feeling towards him before, but on the other hand, he’s never walked in on Bam and I.

“Fine, I won’t, just let go of me!” Bam yelled and I nodded, glaring at Bam, and Hanna let go of him, and he sighed heavily.

“You two have got to fucking stop this shit.” Hanna said, looking between the two of us. “You guys are going to be together on a fucking plane for hours, if you two start this kind of shit there you’ll both get thrown off.” Hanna seemed pissed at our behavior. If only he knew. I just looked over at Bam and Bam looked down slightly before looking at Hanna.

“Okay, and how many Twinkies did Novak give you to tell us that?” Bam asked, and Hanna just looked down.

“Two, and a half eaten turkey sandwich.” Hanna mumbled and Bam looked over at me with a smirk. “It didn’t even have turkey on it. It had Spam.”

“Jesus Christ…” It took so much to not laugh.

“I don’t even like Spam.” Hanna moaned and I sighed with a smile.

“Aw, poor baby.” I stepped up to Mark, wrapping my arms around him. “We’ll go make you a turkey sandwich.” I told him and he smiled before looking at Bam.

“Why don’t you ever make me turkey sandwiches?” Hanna asked Bam and he rolled his eyes.

“Because I don’t make sandwiches!” He groaned and Hanna shook his head and started walking towards the door, and I followed behind him, and looked back at Bam, seeing him looking slightly sad with a small frown on his face as Hanna led me out the room. I turned back and followed Hanna down to the kitchen.

“Looks like everyone’s migrated somewhere else.” He said as he sat down on the counter, and I walked towards the fridge, grabbing the mayonnaise and some turkey from a drawer before closing the door and heading over to the counter and grabbing the bread, sitting everything on the island. He fucking pulled Bam away from me, it was all he was getting. Hell, he was lucky he was like a big teddy bear or he wouldn’t even be getting a sandwich. He’d be getting a butter knife to the hand like Knoxville.

“Thanks for saving me back there from being captured and then hung off of the roof by my feet.” I said as I grabbed a plate, and Hanna smiled.

“No problem, I was coming up there to tell you that you and Bam need to bury the hatchet and stop fucking each other and grow up a little-”

“Wait what’d you say?” I asked, my heart stopping as I looked at him. He just said we needed to stop fucking. Did he know?

“I said you two need to stop fucking with each other.” He cleared up and I nodded, relaxing as I grabbed a knife from the drawer and got two pieces of bread from the loaf. “I was gonna let you fuck Bam, because I sure as hell didn’t want to.” I got wide eyed as slathered the two pieces of bread with Mayo.

“You didn’t want to what?” I looked up at him, trying to act like I didn’t hear him at all as he kicked his feet back and forth against the cabinets.

“I said I was gonna let you tell Bam, because I didn’t want to.” He said, looking at me oddly and I went back to the sandwich, taking out a couple pieces of turkey and putting them on it. I was hearing shit. “Are you alright?” He asked and I nodded as I put the other piece of bread on top, and looked up at him again.

“I’m fine just…got a lot on my mind.” I still had to pack and figure out how to kill Austin once I got within an arm’s length of her. I handed Hanna the plate and put the twist tie on the bread, pushing it over to the corner.

“You seem a little distant.” Hanna said, taking a bite as I put the mayonnaise and turkey back in the fridge and the knife in the sink.

“No, I’m fine, just scared stiff still by being attack by Bam.” I said and jumped up on the counter by Hanna as he nodded and kept eating. I looked down at the floor, thoughts quickly filling my head. We’d be finding Austin soon. Or so I hoped. Bam had some friend that was going to help us, so that was a good thing. Despite wanting to repeatedly bash Austin in the face with a boulder, and the fact that she did call me, I was still worried. I knew I probably- Fuck, what was I thinking, I had every right to be worried. She was my best friend, that had a lot of past barriers that she broke through. Worry was something that was mandatory in this situation.

Then there was this thing with Bam and I. When we all got back from Finland, or at least after we found Austin, Bam would break the news that Missy left him. Then with that would come the news of him and I. We…we were together. That was inevitable. It was our relationship that ended his marriage.

“Hey, Kori, are you sure you’re alright?” I looked over at Hanna’s voice, noticing he was finished eating.

“Fine, just…a little spacy.” I admitted, but he still looked concerned as the smile faded from my face and I took a deep breath.

“Are you sure?” He asked, and I nodded and leaned into his side and he wrapped his arm around me.

“I’m fine.” I muttered and he nodded and I sighed, mustering up a small smile. “I gotta go pack. I’ll be back down in a little bit.” I said and he nodded as I jumped down from the counter.

“I’ll be…making more sandwiches.” He said, jumping down and I couldn’t help but laugh lightly at him as I started towards the stairs, slipping past everyone in the living room and jogging up them and down the hall to my room. I saw Bam lying on my bed as I walked in and I turned, closing the door, and he looked up quickly like he was ready to panic.

“Jesus, calm down it’s just me.” I said and he sighed, lying back again.

“I just want to go get Austin, tell everyone everything, and live happily ever after.” He mumbled and I went over, and he sat up again and pulled me down onto his lap, his head on my shoulder.

“Well life isn’t a fairytale, Bam.” I said and he sighed again.

“Are you sure? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure you’re some fucked up version of Snow White.” He said and I rolled my eyes, pushing him back as he laughed lightly.

“You’re such an asshole.” I said and he grinned.

“I compliment you and I’m an asshole? Really?” He asked his hands resting on my hips.

“No, you’re an asshole on a general day-to-day basis.” I said and he nodded.

“Yea, I get that a lot.” He looked over at the door. “You lock the door?” He asked, looking back at me and I nodded.

“Yep.”

“How long do you think we have until they realize we’re missing?”

“You live with a bunch of idiots, Bam.” I reminded him and he nodded as he leaned up.

“You call them idiots, I call them…” He paused and I rolled my eyes, about to kiss him but he stopped me. “No, no, what do I call them?”

“Id-”

“No, no, no, let me figure it out myself.” I groaned, throwing my head back.

“Are you really holding off sex to figure out what you call your joker friends?” I asked and he smiled.

“Is it pissing you off?” I just glared.

“Yep.”

“Then yea,” He smiled wider. “Yea I am.”

Later that day, the four of us got packed, but not without complications. Hanna decided to steal my bag, and run around with it.

“PLEASE STAY WITH ME!” He yelled, and I just sighed as I eyed him. We were standing on opposite sides of the table, him with my bag, wanting me to stay.

“I can’t, Hanna!” I told him once more. “I’ve got to go help find Austin!”

“But…but I don’t wanna brave my family!” He whined, but I wasn’t sure if it was that, or that he’d just miss me. I was going to miss him too, because he had become like my alcoholic older brother, and I loved the big guy to death.

“Well I don’t wanna face these Dudeson guys either, but I’m gonna have to go through that.” I said and he sighed and walked around, dropping my bag beside me as he hugged me tightly, nearly cutting my breathing off.

“Take me with you.” He mumbled into my shoulder and I sighed again.

“Maybe we can fit you into a big bag without Bam knowing.” I said and he grinned as he pulled away.

“Let’s do it!” His grin was beginning to creep me out.

“We just gotta find a big duffel bag or something…”

^*Hanna’s POV*^
I nodded as Kori went over our plan again; understanding every bit of it. I was going to tell Bam I was heading on out to my parents place tonight, but really I’d just hide under the sink in the kitchen, and then when morning came, Kori would get up earlier, I’d crawl into this duffel bag we’d found in the guest bedroom closet, and she’d just tell them it was her bag of clothes and shit. I’d have her bag in the big duffel bag with me. When we got to the airport Kori would head towards the bathroom, but as soon as she’d round a corner I’d get out, and walk back with her, and she’d just grin and tell them that she wasn’t going unless I was going. If Bam said hell no she’d kick him in the balls until he said okay. It was a perfect plan.

“I’ll see you in the morning.” Kori said and I nodded, lying back in the dark cabinet.

“Night.” I said and she closed the cabinet door. Really, I didn’t mind spending that much time with family, but I couldn’t help but have the other day on repeat. Bam hit me pretty hard, and I didn’t get much of it, but I remember finding out that he was hitting on Kori. I didn’t like that. He was an okay guy, but Kori had become my short little sister, and he’d hurt her in the end. He’s married, for fuck’s sake, and since Missy’s out of town, and he’s going to Finland with Kori, it would be the perfect time for him to make a move. I wasn’t going to let that happen. I was her new bodyguard.

^*Bam’s POV*^
“WAKE UP!” A shallow, choked out breath escaped my lips and my eyes flew open as a body jumped onto me, and a knee drove into my stomach and I cringed, lying back. “Hey, wake up.” I opened my eyes to see Kori’s smiling face.

“W-well good morning to you…too” I managed out, and she grinned and kissed me on the cheek. “The hell’s wrong with you this morning?” I asked as I slowly sat up and she got off of me.

“I’ve had fucking four cups of coffee and I can’t feel my heart.” She said, laughing slightly.

“Well Jesus Christ, shouldn’t you be annoying Hanna or Novak, or Dunn or someone?” I asked, rubbing my eyes and she shook her head.

“Novak and Ryan are asleep and Hanna left last night to go see family, remember?” I sighed, nodding.

“Fuck, right, right.” I started getting out of bed, and she laid down, pulling the covers over her head.

“Fuck, now I’m tired.” She said with a breath and I sighed.

“That’s what you get for drinking so much coffee.” I said, going over to my closet and rummaging through the clothes on the floor, trying to find a pair of pants that didn’t smell like blood or alcohol.

“I was bored and had nothing to do.” She mumbled, the comforter muffling her words slightly.

“WAKE THE FUCK UP, SUGAR TITS!” The door burst open again and I looked over as Novak ran in, in nothing but his underwear with a Batman sheet wrapped around his neck as he jumped onto the bed, falling onto Kori.

“Shit Novak, I’m over here!” I yelled as Kori cried out and I stepped out of the closet some, and he pulled the sheet back from Kori’s head.

“Oh. Sorry sugar tits.” He said and she groaned.

“Get the fuck off of me, and stop calling me that!” She shoved him into the floor, and he hit the carpet with a thump. I rolled my eyes, going back to my closet. This was going to be a long morning.

^*Kori’s POV*^
I was tired as fuck by the time everyone was awake, which made Ryan force cups of coffee down my throat until we were ready to go, and I already had Hanna in the duffel bag waiting at the door. And I’m pretty sure I did have a minor heart attack as Ryan and Novak picked it up, because I was unable to carry Hanna. Fucker weighed five hundred fucking pounds. Me carry him? I don’t fucking think so.

“Jesus fuck, Kori.” Novak dropped his end and I cringed.

“The fuck you got in this bag? A dead body?” I wanted to laugh at Ryan’s words. He didn't know how close he was.

“No, just all of my clothes and a lot of shit to kill Austin with.” I told him and Bam ran down the stairs.

“You two mules stop fucking whining and carry the bags.” He dropped his bag onto mine as Ryan and Novak lifted it again. I cringed again, knowing Hanna was in pain from the drop, and the bag being dropped on him. “Now let’s go!” Bam marched out of the house, and I followed Novak and Ryan out. As soon as I got to the airport I’d get Hanna out of the bag as soon as possible.
