“Im so excited for the new baby” Anna said. Their family was obnoxiously big and they weren’t helping with the over population problem in the world. “When can I know whether it’s a girl or boy?” she asked giggly.
Mikhail stayed quiet, he knew something was up but didn’t want to say anything around their parents, and Anna seemed so happy. She had a day off to put less stress on a strained wrist.
“Not yet, Anechka” Alina said. “It’s too soon to tell”
“We are all so excited” Adnan said. “Nikkitta could use someone her age”
“BABY!” the little bleach blond toddler exclaimed. Anna giggled.
“Yeah, baby! Nikki!” Anna picked up Nikkitta and carried her into the girls bedroom. Anna wasn’t too happy about the new house and new neighbor hood but she didn’t live their so it didn’t matter if they had a smaller house. “We are all going to have a little baby around in seven months” she said.
“Baby?”
“Yeah, I hope it’s a girl. Girls are awesome”
Mikhail walked into the girl’s room. “Can I talk to you, Anna”
“Yup” she put Nikkitta down.
“Im concerned about mom and dad”
“What’s going on? No one’s getting abused right?”
“No it’s fine—it’s money wise” Anna thought about it. It was a lot smaller and a lot of their more expensive things were gone. Their dad said they left it in a storage since there wasn’t enough space but it seemed odd. “I looked on dad’s computer” he started. “And he’s looking for a new job”
“Did he lose his company?”
“I don’t know. He never used to work at home” Anna thought about it.
“What are you thinking?”
“You know the Andreyvna’s in the old neighborhood?” Anna nodded. “They can’t have a baby and they’ve been looking for a surrogate for like ever. I think mom is the surrogate”
Anna twitched her face a bit trying to understand. She quickly grabbed her computer and logged onto her bank accounts. Her parents said they’d use it for Anna’s education and emergency’s only. She had 10,000 dollars in the bank after 2014 American Cup. Now it was at 2,000.
“I think things are getting really bad” Mikhail said. “And I can’t pretend to be okay”
Mikhail was two years younger than Anna. He knew things and since he went to school full time he really knew things. He was a lot more aware since he was home more than Anna, and being that educated and hearing stories of other people’s situations from friends really helped.
“Don’t pretend” she said. “Im going to fix things”

That night Anna returned to Lake Krugloe without confronting her parents about her missing money. She never wanted that money to herself anyways but still, it was all gone without any reason.
She wanted answers but at the same time she needed to help. After worlds she picked up more sponsors. Before Worlds she was working with GK Elite and Alpha Factor modeling leotards and a few other gymnastic gear. She got 5 more sponsorships with food products and clothing lines to pick up more money. Unfortunately that meant more pressure but she needed the money. She knew the money would roll in after the American Cup.
