“A woman, Anna” Mikhail said over the phone. “He announced it back in November”
“Mika, it’s now June, why am I just hearing of this if he said something in November?”
“I expressed my concern and I don’t think he went for it” Mikhail said. “But he announced the other day he’s dating…her name is Ekaterina Baratova…she’s very nice”
“How could you take his side? What about mom?”
“After the invitational you need to meet her, she’s a very nice respectable woman. I think mom would like her” Anna sighed. She didn’t want to just replace her mother like that. “Nothing is serious right now, they’ve been dating for six months and he wants us to meet her soon”
“Well” Anna started. “I guess” she thought about it. “If I died young I would want my husband to live happily ever after..even if it’s not with me” she said. “So I’m happy for him. But she has to fulfill all my requirements”

The Invitational was held in Sweden. It was Sweden against Russia against the United Kingdom against Ireland against Romania. It was a very fun competion for all.
Like I said, Russia sent Aliya, Anna and Maria as it’s three main stars. There were no all-around competition or event finals. It was just one day of team final.
They started on bars. Lucky them. Aliya, Anna and their young new teammate swept into first with their impressive bars. Beam went even better. A young russian by the name of Olga had some serious skill that even rivaled Anna. They moved to floor which is a seriously weak event for them, but they managed. Vault was last and they finished strong. They had one fall on floor, that’s it. They finished in first ahead of Romania. Perfect.
After they saw how well the invitational went, the Russian olympic committee decided to stay with this team. After the announcement a party was in the works. Hosted by…guess…
