The New Queen

The Best is Yet to Come

Anna finished writing her book and planned to get it published in 2023. Like mentioned before, it was only on her life from her birth to the 2016 Olympics. It featured the high lights of the journey. Like some of the things I told you. In the end it featured a chapter just on how her journey has made her who she was. It’s one thing to go through the motions, but its another thing to actually feel.
A lot of publishing companies in both Russia and America wanted to make this book a reality. Khorkina was the one who really took interest in it. She got plenty of publishers and ediors and wanted to make her book the next big thing. Svetlana was the first person to read it…and she loved it.
Anna wanted the book to come out in three different languages…Russian, English and Albanian. The three languages she was most familiar with.
Anna put her heart and soul into the book, and by using a diary she kept for all of her childhood, she was able to recreate old moments. She also got Vika and Aliya involved by having them recount their favorite memories of Anna in certain parts of the book.
By the time Khorkina was done with it, it was going to be a huge hit. The Queen of modern gymnastics was telling her story. A lot of people were going to be shocked on what she had to say.
Anyways, the book was released in December 2023, just in time for Christmas. The book sold more copies in it’s first day then ANY OTHER RUSSIAN BOOK….EVER. The book continued to be a hit up until 2024.
She did plenty of tours in Russia and America to sign books. Many of young girls who did gymnastics were reading and found themselves inspired by her story. She didn’t want children to be inspired by just anything She wasn’t any kind of rags to riches story, she really struggled.
The book had it’s controversial moments though, with cutting, depression, and underaged sex and drinking so they didn’t want to put it in library’s. The book even got the Rodinenko’s fired from being head coaches of the Russian women. Anna didn’t want that to happen, but now Alexandrov could come back. He hated the Rodinenko’s.
The book did some good and bad but overall it was Anna’s proudest achievement…for the moment. 2024 was a good year for her, but 2025 would be better…
