The New Queen

London

Tom was in London one morning. He went out to star bucks to grab a quick breakfast before he enjoyed his day off. He got a notification from Anna on VK.
Anna: what are you doing today?
Tom replied back.
Tom: why?
Anna: I’m in London and I want to meet up
Tom’s heart exploded. She was in London for the first time in like 20 years. This was a dream come true.
Tom: Sure, where are you so I can pick you up
Anna: Chester Hotel in West London. I’m with my daughter
Tom: ok, when do you want to meet?
Anna: do you have any tourist-y places we can visit?
Tom: of course. I have the perfect place in mind. Pick you up at 3 pm?
Anna: sure
Tom smiled. He had to look perfect. It’s been ten years since he’s seen Anna. He hadn’t let him self go. He kept in shape. He wanted to see her again. He had one chance.

Later that afternoon Tom drove his car to meet them. Little Yuliya was the exact image of Anna but much smaller. It was actually quite scary.
“Hey” Anna and Tom hugged. “It’s been ages!” she said. “I’ve missed you”
“Me too…you know, you really should come to London more often”
“I’ll consider it—oh, this is my daughter, Yuliya” Tom smiled at the little girl. He kneed down so he was at her level.
“Hello, I’m Tom” he held his hand out. She shook it with her tiny hand.
“I’m Yuliya” she said in a high pitched, squeaky voice. “I’m five” she held up five fingers.
“Not quite” Anna said. Tom smiled.
“Well, let’s go” the three got in his car and drove to the other side of London. They went to the last place Anna and Tom hung out together in London. It was this big park overlooking all the Royal palace’s and most of mainstream London. It was a beautiful sight.
Anna recognized it as soon as she set eyes on it. She turned to Tom who was already smiling back. In that moment Anna felt like she was 19 again and in love. It was weird. Although things had changed in those almost 20 years, it wasn’t, was it?
They hung out at the part for ages just catching up. Tom got really involved with Yuliya. He asked her about all the things she did, she talked about starting pre-school that fall and traveling that summer with her mommy and hanging out with her daddy sometimes. She asked him outrageous questions about his life. She even asked if she liked her mommy. He said yes, he always had.

Anna and Yuliya left London after a week. At the end of that week Anna and Tom agreed they needed to be in contact more.
Actually, in a year they were married.
