Well, Who's to Say You'll Have to Do it Alone?

That night was hectic, Caitlyn was definitely teething. She woke me up at 2am and i took her upstairs so i wouldnt wake anyone. I walked around and sang to her and rocked her and let her use her teething ring, she just couldnt relax at all. Her crying was making me really anxious which wasnt helping the situation. After a few minutes i heard someone walk in and i looked over and it was my aunt Helena.

"Hey" she said

"Hey. Im sorry she woke you, shes just so miserable" i said

"Its fine, whats wrong?" she asked

"Well when i woke up i thought she was hungry or wet. But i was wrong, i guess its the teething" i said

"Wheres the teething ring?" she asked

"Here" i said holding it up

"Okay. Usually that works, is she warm?" she asked and i felt her forehead and she was kinda warm and i looked at my aunt with my eyes wide

"Do you think shes sick again!?. Oh god, shes gotta have somthing wrong with her it can be normal for her to keep getting sick i-" i started but she cut me off

"Alex relax!. A little fever while teething is normal, used to happen to you at times when you were a baby. Guess shes just like you" she said smiling at me

"Thank god" i sighed

"Hand her over, i'll take care of her. Go back to bed you look exhausted and really panicked. You need sleep" she said

"But she needs me im her dad and she only really calms down for me so it would be like pure torture i can't-" i started rambling and she cut me off

"Alex!. My god, please just trust me. Im a nurse at the hospital in the NICU this is practically my specialty" she said and i was hesitant but handed her Caitlyn

"Im sorry. I must look like a crazy person" i said

"Not at all!. Your a first time dad, its stressful. Especially being a single parent so go rest" she said and i nodded

I decided to go sleep on the couch in the office, i was to exhausted to go back downstairs. I kept waking up during the night which i assumed was due to the fact that i wasnt in a actual bed. The next morning i woke up and heard people talking in the kitchen so i went to see what was up.

"Alex!" Eliza said

"Hi" i said

"Have a good siesta?" she said

"Uhmm...yeah" i said looking at her weird

"Your babys doing better to" my aunt Helena said

"Good!. I was so freaked last night" i said

"Happens to every parent" she said

"Yeah. So what times the reunion today?" i asked

"Its at 3" she said

"Cool. I cant wait to see everyone" i said

"Yeah everyones excited to see you to. They all heard about Caitlyn" she said

"Nice" i said

"Do they know Caitlyns mother is a hoe?" Eliza said and i laughed

Later we left for the party, it was at a restaurant and we drove with Eliza and Keith. Caitlyn was pretty moody the entire ride and i had a feeling that wouldnt change. We got to the restaurant and went inside and then Caitlyn started crying.

"Noo" i whined

"Poor little girl" Eliza said

"I know" i said as we walked into the room where everyone was

"Alex!. So good to see you!" a woman said coming over to us

"Hi Vivian" i said, shes my mom and aunts friend from high school. She was always around when i was little and is considered a family member. She also is my godmother

"I heard you have a baby, shes so adorable" she said

"Thank you" i said swaying trying to get Caitlyn to stop crying

"Whats wrong?, is she hungry?" she asked

"I dont no. Shes teething so it could be that" i said

"Aww, poor baby" she said Caitlyn spit up down the front of my shirt

"Ewww" i said

"Thats my girl!" Eliza said

"Take her, im gonna change" i said handing Caitlyn to Eliza

"Into what?" she asked

"I keep a spare shirt in the diaper bag" i said

"Your kidding" she said

"Nope" i said

"Where did this idea come from?" she asked

"Jacks mom told me she used to do it. She said it was a good idea, she was right" i said

"That is pretty genius" she said

"Yeah. I'll be back" i said

"Mhm. We'll be here" she said and i rubbed Caitlyns back before leaving the restaurant

I went to the car to change, i was so glad i had a spare shirt. After i was changed i checked my messages and i had a voicemail, it was Brooks dad. He left me a message complaining that i had Caitlyn today and threatened me again. I got fed up and blocked him number. I went back inside to talk to Keith, i had a plan.

"Hey guys" i said coming back inside

"Hey" they said

"Keith i have a question" i said

"Yeah?" he asked

"You work for a law firm, right?" i asked

"I do" he said

"I need a good lawyer, like really good" i said

"Alex what the hells going on. Are you okay because you look a little shaky maybe you should sit?" Eliza said

"I wanna take Brooks dad to court. I want to get him out of Caitlyns life permanently" i said and Keith and Eliza looked at each other nervous
