Well, Who's to Say You'll Have to Do it Alone?
Baby Class
The next morning was a typical morning, Jack fed Caitlyn while i made us food. We had gotten into this little routine lately that just works. In the middle of breakfast Eliza broke into our house, freaking us all out.
"What the hell!?" i said
"Hey guys!" she said
"How'd you get in here" i asked
"I know where the spare key is" she said
"Oh. So whats up?" i asked
"I did somthing special for you two" she said
"What?" i said
"I signed you guys up for a baby class" she said
"What?" i said
"Its basically a class for like pregnant women but since i know the girl who runs it i got you guys in on a class. Its today at 3" she said
"Hell no" Jack said
"Yeah im with him, i think we got this thing under control" i said
"No!, you guys have to go!. Its really informative. They teach you CPR and all this other stuff you two dont know about!" she said
"I dont no, i mean when the hell will we have to preform CPR on my daughter?" i said
"Its better to know it and not need it then not know it and need it" she said
"Well couldnt i just call 911?" i said
"Alex listen to yourself!, you need to know this stuff. You dont have baby books or any of that. How will you know what stuff is typical for a baby and not!" she said
"Shes got a point dude" Jack said
"Ughhh fine" i sighed and she got excited and handed me a little card with all the info on it
Later we left Caitlyn with Zack and we went to the class. I know this is gonna be really awkward, were gonna be the only people there that dont have a pregnant person with us. We walked into the class and were imediently greeted.
"Hey!, you guys must be Alex and Jack. Im Kat" the girl said
"Hi, im Alex. This is Jack" i said and Jack waved
"Hi. Im so glad you two came, Eliza wasnt sure you'd go for this" she said
"I didnt wanna come trust me. But some how she convinced me" i said
"Good!, come sit at the empty table over there" she said
"Okay" i said giving Jack a nervous glance
We sat down and she started the class, it was weird. She was talking about the baby in the birth canal. I was so uncomfortable, this wasnt meant for me. Jack kept making faces at everything she said. After all the gross stuff she got to the stuff that would benefit us.
"Now when your baby becomes able to crawl and grab at stuff then you gotta get prepped. You need to basically baby proof everything, you'd be surprised the things the babys get into" Kat said
"Like what?" i asked
"Light sockets, they can grab at a light weight table and nock it over, anything glass, anything sharp, tiny things. The list goes on but you get the point, keep everything out of their reach" she said
"How old is the typical age for babys to start getting into stuff?" a pregnant lady asked
"Uhm, typically between 3 and 5 months" Kat said, i felt a rush of panic since Caitlyns starting to crawl a little. Our house isnt fully ready i guess
After the class me and Jack went to the store to get some stuff. Kat gave us a list of stuff that people use, the list was pretty crazy. Like things for the table edges, door things, gates. We went home and Zack was over helping Rian babysit. We decided to use them to help.
"What the hells all this?!" Rian said
"We gotta like prep the house for her" i said pointing to Caitlyn who was chewing on Zacks hoodie string
"Alex is the paranoid father now" he said
"Yes, help?" i said
"Sure" he said
"Okay, these go in every outlet in the house" i said dumping the outlet covers onto the coffee table
"Wow" he said amazed
"These go on the coffee table corners, this goes on the toilet, these obviously block her from rooms we dont want her in" i said taking stuff out of a bag
"Damn looks like we got a lot of work on our hands, lets get to it ladys" Rian said
"Okay but before we put a lock on the toilet, i gotta pee" Jack said running to the bathroom
"Zack i guess you can keep a eye on her while we do this, also put some plugs in the outlet" i said tossing a few at him
"Sure" he said
"Okay lets do this!" Jack said walking in
