Made of Wax

Meet Precious

“Bye mom. See ya later” I said with a smile on my lips, as I stood in the door to the kitchen, getting ready to leave to school.

“Bye honey. Are you coming straight home from school today?” she asked curiously, making me shake my head ‘no’.

“Nah, I’m going to hang out with Precious after school. I think we’re going to hang around in the gym hall” I answered my mother sweetly, and gladly took the apple she gave to me.

She sighed softly. I knew she loved Precious, almost as her own daughter, but she knew that if I was with her, on the school, after school, I wouldn’t be with only her but also some of my other friends, which she didn’t really like. She as well, thought that my friends would turn me into a criminal person someday, but come on.

“Mom, take it easy, we are just going to dance around for an hour or two, then I’ll come home” I said softly and took a bite of my apple.

“You better do, because your sister, you brother, Valary, Brian and Michelle will be here for dinner” she said in a sharp voice, but with a smile on her face.

I sighed annoyingly, “Mom, do I have to be home? I don’t wanna hear Matt and Brian lecturing me, about how I shouldn’t be dancing, and shouldn’t be hanging around with my friends, especially hearing him saying, that I’ll turn out as a criminal. That one is getting quite old” I said annoyed.

“Pen, please just come to dinner, at least for Amy, Valary and Michelle. Okay?” my mom sighed softly, causing me to nod my head slowly. She kissed my forehead and told me goodbye, before I went out of the house and started my short walk to school. Michelle is Brian’s wife by the way. Oh and if I haven’t told you already, Brian is the lead guitarist in my brothers band.

On my way to school, I couldn’t help but think about the dinner tonight. I was beyond excited for seeing my sister again, and also seeing Valary and Michelle again, but I wasn’t that excited for seeing my brother and his friend. I know I may sound harsh, but you would have said the same thing if you were in my position. I hate being judge by people who don’t get what I’m doing.

On the other hand, I couldn’t help but getting to see my friends again. I miss hanging out with them, but I especially miss dancing with them. We had this little crew called ‘Shining Stars’, which may be a weird name for a crew, but we liked it, and that is what matters.

We used to hang around in the gym hall all the time; we used to hang around until we got asked to leave by the securities on the school. All we would do was dancing, having fun and become better.
We all wanted to go to either BSA or MICA, which stands for Maryland Institute College of Art, so that was exactly what we were practicing for.

Soon I was at my school, and found myself getting inside to find my locker and my friends. And before I even were done thinking about finding them, Precious yelled my name through the hallway, making people turn and look at me.

You see, Precious is a funny girl. I mean she is all weird but still loveable as hell. She is all crazy and doesn’t care what she does or doesn’t do, and then she is an amazing dancer. She and I met each other through a common friend of ours, at the beach one day after school. After that day, I found out that she was going on my school and with that, we started to hang out.

“Ay, me Darling” I said with a fake and terrible British accent as I reached my friend, making them laugh out loud. I opened my locker and threw in my back and quickly closed it and locked it again.

“So, are we going to the hall today? I wanna practice some more” our friend Damien said while he was leaning up against the wall.

“Yeah sure stuff man, of course we are” I smiled at him, “do you guys by the way know who the new Gym teacher is? Ya know; the one who’re here instead of Mr. Philips” I asked curiously.

“No, but I’ve heard he is quite a cutie” Precious laughed, causing me to giggle. I just hoped she was right, because I have extra Gym this year. Not that I’m a sports freak because I’m not, I just didn’t want to have extra Biology lessons.

Soon the first bell rang, and I parted ways with my friends since I had the first class ‘alone’. It was quite boring, but I survived because it was only a half period class. It was something weird that I didn’t even listen too, because it was too boring.

The Class went by pretty fast, and soon I was in my next class with was Math, and I had that together with Damien, Precious and a friend of mine called Evan. We had a fun time, but that was not something new because we always had that in our classes together.

“Oh bitch please, algebra is easy” I said with a roll of my eyes to Precious.

“Then show me” she laughed and moved closer to me.

“We’ll take the easy one. Look it says; Two X plus two equal to eight, what is X?. So what you do is to find something that you can multiply with two, and then plus with two so it equals eight.” I said softly two hear, making her start thinking.

“Oh I get it now. It’s two multiply three, plus two and it equals eight, right?” she said proudly, making me smile and nod at her. Truth is I really don’t get math either, but I get some of it, which is the beginner step of algebra.

“That’s right” I smiled at her, before paying attention to out teacher who started speaking.

Soon it was time for lunch, which meant, time for hanging out with our friends in the ‘backyard’ of the school. Sometimes we dance, sometimes we just talk. It’s really different from day to day, but this time we decided to just talk, because we were going to get gathered in the hall after school.

After about thirty minutes of lunch it was time for Precious and me, to get into the changing room for our last class, Gym, and get changed. I placed my bag with towel and clothes on the bench, and started to strip down my clothes.

I got on my black Nike Pro sports bra which Amy, my sister, bought to me recently. Then I put on my black Nike short over my thong. Yes I know that wasn’t the smartest idea, but I was in a kind of hurry this morning. Then I pulled out my black Nike Zoom running shoes and put them on, before lacing them up. I guess you could say that I’m a bit of a Nike fan, but I just prefer either that brand, or the brand called Hummel. Only my sweatpants for dancing, wasn’t either of these brands.
