Stay

Jealous minds.

"Jenna. Baby. You gotta get up." Eric whispered gently trying to wake the girl.

"I dont wanna."

"Now who's the slacker?"

She shot a glare at the boy as she sat up, her hair a bit of a mess.

He chuckled and ran his fingers through her dark locks. Her eyes met his and he grinned.

"You are already ready? Do you feel ok?"

He chuckled, "I'm fine. Now get up."

She sighed and he kissed her head before she fumbled from the bed. He watched her quickly grab her things and head to the bathroom.

He made his bed to waste time and by the time he shoved all his books in his backpack she was walking out.

"I'm sleepy." She mumbled covering her mouth to yawn and he chuckled throwing his arm over her shoulders and pulling her to his chest.

"I'm sorry baby." He cooed allowing her to shut her eyes as she relaxed against him.

"I just wanna stay here and have you hold me." She mumbled into his shirt causing shivers to run up his back.

"Very tempting, love. But we have to graduate and then who knows? We can spend weeks at a time cuddling."

She giggled, "I have another year."

"We have summer."

She looked up at him and he kissed her quickly, "Nothing is gonna keep me away from you Jenna Nickelsen."

She grinned and he playfully winked as he pulled away from her and grabbed up their bags.

"Now come on, so we aren't late."

She sighed and followed him to his car.

"Here you go my lady." He spoke with a grin as he opened her door for her. She chuckled and slid into the seat instantly. Once the door shut she rested her head on the window.

Eric chuckled and reached for her hand, "When schools over I swear you can take a nap."

"Ok."

Once at school they grabbed their backpacks and slowly headed inside to their lockers where of course everyone was already gathered.

"Well hello little one." John said giving her a grin and she chuckled, "Hi."

"She's clearly not a morning person." Eric stated as Jenna laid her head on John.

John chuckled and wrapped his arms around her, "Awe. Why didn't you let her skip?"

Eric chuckled, "Because! She needs to pass unlike you."

"Such a stupid boyfriend." John mumbled jokingly and she laughed.

"Ok, well let's go to class." Garrett said picing hi books up from the floor.

"See you next block." Eric said pressing his lips to Jenna's before sprinting down the hall.

"He's so in love." John laughed as they walked down the hall.

"He is not."

"Right. Ok."

She rolled her eyes and he smiled, "See you soon."

They parted ways and Jenna went to class. After math she headed to change books and as she picked them out of her locker she heard someone call her name. She looked over to see a boy from her last class.

"You left this." He said holding out a notebook.

"Oh my gosh. Thank you Alex."

He nodded with a grin as he leaned against the locker beside hers.

"So are you dating that new kid?"

Jenna laughed, "Eric? Yeah we've been together for a while now."

He nodded, "Oh. Bummer." He responded with a grin. Jenna's eyes diverted to him and he smiled, "I have been trying to muster up the courage to ask you to prom."

"Ah, sorry Alex. I would have went with you." She said trying to make him feel better even if she wouldn't have agreed whether Alex was in the picture or not.

"Who the fuck is that?" Eric asked his smile fading as he headed down the hall with Nick. Nick couldn't help but laugh, "Alex."

"Who is he?"

"He's in her grade. They must be friends or something. Settle down."

Eric grumbled a few words under his breath as they grew closer to the pair. It was different when she was talking to a guy he knew, but he didn't know this Alex kid and he already didn't like him.

Eric didn't have a problem interjecting in the pairs conversation once they were close enough.

"Jenna, you ready?" He asked giving the boy a look.

She nodded and closed her locker, "See you next block." She responded to him and a smile hit the boy's lips, "Ok. Bye."

Eric rolled his eyes as the boy walked the opposite way of them.

"Who was that?"

"Oh Alex. I left my notebook in class and he was bringing it to me."

"Oh." Eric mumbled. Sounds like something he would do for a girl he liked which made him not like the kid even more.

Jenna eyed Eric as they sat at their usual desks and he flashed her a grin trying to act like nothing was on his mind.

"You ok?" She asked and he nodded, "Yeah, just tired. Some girl kept me up last night." He joked and she laughed, "Oh no. You kept me up."

He shook his head furiously causing her to giggle, "Whatever."

Class started and Eric tried to occupy himself with his work which was really hard when Jenna was beside him. He wanted to just stare at her the whole time.

The day went by rather slowly. Well to Eric anyways. As he left his last class to go grab his things and Jenna, John met him in the hall.

"Yo." Eric spoke and John cut right to the chase, "Who's this guy hanging around Jenna all day?"

"What guy?! Is it that fucking Alex kid?!" Eric asked growing angry already.

"Yeah, I think that's his name!"

"I'm going to fucking murder him." Eric growled and John couldn't help but laugh. He had never seen Eric mad before and it amused him.

"No, he needs to back off my girl. I do not play that shit." Eric spat as he reached his locker and threw his things in, slamming the door behind him.

"Relax man. Maybe their just friends."

"Yeah? Are you ever just friends with a girl?"

"Well Jenna..."

"No. A girl at school and would you run after her to give her a notebook?!"

"Well, not unless I liked her..."

"Exactly! And he did that this morning!"

"Oh man." John said chuckling. He couldn't help it. This was a new side of Eric for him.

"I swear if we get to her locker and he's there I'm going to kick someone's ass." Eric grumbled and John smiled, "No you won't. Relax."

Eric sighed as he rounded the corner and saw that stupid boy at Jenna's locker.

"Eric." John warned grabbing his arm and Eric glared at him.

"Let me scare the kid. Just stop. You don't want Jenna mad at you."

Eric groaned knowing he was right and John walked closer to the boy who was waiting on Jenna.

"Alex is it?" John asked and the boy nodded.

"You know Jenna has a boyfriend right?"

"Yeah she mentioned it."

"And you know he goes here right?"

"Yeah..."

"And clearly you know that if you keep this up he's going to kick your ass right?" John asked with amusement and Alex rolled his eyes, "Whatever man. I'm just her friend."

"You and I both know you want more than that."

"Yeah well if I happen to change her mind who am I to complain?"

John laughed "You've got some guts."

Alex shrugged acting like he didn't care and John sighed, "Fine."

He waved Eric over and Eric but all sprinted over.

"Is there something you want to tell Eric here?" John asked and Eric crossed his arms with a serious face.

"Nope."

"Right. Then run along." John said and Alex rolled his eyes before walking away.

"I hate that kid." John stated and Eric sighed, "I'm going to hurt him."

Jenna of course walked up completely oblivious to what happened, "Hey. Ready?" She asked with a smile and Eric nodded grabbing up her hand as they left the building. They said goodbye to John as they headed to Eric's car and once inside Eric spoke, "Alex likes you."

"He does not." She said laughing.

"He told John he did."

Her laughter ended and she looked over at him, "Did not."

"Did so."

"Well he knows I'm with you."

"And you know he doesn't care."

Jenna sighed, "Oh come on Eric. Who cares?"

"I care." He grumbled as they headed back to his house. The car ride was silent and one they reached his home she followed him inside.

She fell onto his bed and he watched her carefully.

"Just be careful around him ok? Because if he tries something I'll have to smash his face in."

She rolled his yes, "He isn't going to."

"Yeah you always have too much faith."

"Can we sleep?"

He sighed and climbed onto the bed. His lips met her cheek before falling beside her.

"I love you." He mumbled throwing his arm around her.

"You know you have nothing to worry about right? I mean, I love you."

"I know. I just don't want anyone trying to take my girl." He whispered kissing over her jaw.

"No one is going to take me from you."

"I said trying not succeeding."

She laughed and a smile hit his lips, "What? Just saying!"

She cuddled to him and he kissed her forehead before they both passed out.

The next day at school seemed to be better then the day before and by the end of the day Eric was ready for the weekend. Of course to anything but his surprise, as he headed down the hall he could see Jenna at her locker and that Alex kid was making her laugh. Eric saw Alex reach out and brush a piece of hair out of Jenna's face and he almost launched at the boy as he grew closer. He grabbed the boys wrist without much thought once he was close enogh, "What are you doing?"

Alex looked up a bit taken off guard and Eric glared at him seriously.

"Hey let me clear something up for you, be her friend all you want but if I ever see you touching her again I can't promise you'll still have your face intact." Eric said so seriously and he dropped the boy's arm with force.

"Eric." Jenna warned and he just walked away before he said something he shouldn't.

"Eric!" She called out again as she sprinted after him and out of the school.

"I'm not apologizing Jenna. It's not right and he needs to know where the line is drawn!" Eric huffed as he continued the fast pace to his car.

"Will you just calm down." She said grabbing his arm and he spun around leaning against the door.

"I know you are mad. I get that."

"Apparently not! You are so calm! Like it's ok for him to be acting this way!"

She wrapped her arms around his torso and he sighed as he locked eyes with her.

"I think he got the point now. I'm calm because you talked to him. So why should I be freaking out?"

Eric breathed in and she pressed her forehead to his chest.

"Just stop talking to him Jen. I don't wanna be that boyfriend who doesn't let his girlfriend have guy friends, but he likes you and I don't want him near you." He grumbled.

"Ok." She whispered into his shirt and his arms eventually wrapped around her.

"'Ive never seen you mad." She stated and he frowned, "I'm sorry. It takes a lot to get me pissed, but he seemed to do so quickly."

"It's ok." She responded looking up at him and he kissed her forehead, "I'm sorry. Really."

"No, I would have done the same."

He cupped her face and pressed his lips to hers, "So you aren't mad at me?"

"No, I can't be really."

"You can. I'll let you."

She laughed, "I don't want to be."

"Ok, ok. If you say so."

"Can we go?"

"Sure baby. Your brother is making me bring you home though. I think he thinks we stay at my house and have sex all the time now."

She laughed, "Ok."

"And I think the guys will be over there."

"The good guys huh?" She teased and he ruffled her hair, "Ha! Ha! You're so funny. Yes the good guys."

She laughed as she got in the car and they headed to her house.

"Did uh, Eric kill Alex?" Pat questioned with raised eyebrows and Eric rolled his eyes, "No. I just, said something to him is all."

"Said? Basically threatened." Jenna stated and Eric groaned, "So what?! Maybe I did."

John laughed, "Oh man. He was so mad yesterday I've never seem him like that. It was pretty funny."

"Screw you." Eric grumbled and Jenna laughed, "I'm going to change." She spoke as she climbed from the couch.

"Yes, I hate Alex. It's that simple." Eric said causing the guys to laugh.

"Oh come on! It isn't his fault she's attractive." Jared joked and Eric rolled his eyes, "I don't care. It's his fault that he can't control himself and it'll be his fault when I break every bone in his body for touching my girl."

"Ouchhh." John responded with laughter.

"Him being so serious amuses me." Kennedy added and Eric shrugged. Maybe it was odd for him to be so serious about something, but Jenna was the only thing he would ever act that way over.
