"You haven't been stone cold sober in forty-eight hours, Ronnie!"
"Who the fuck d'you think you are, huh? My AA adviser!?"
I stared at the man I thought I had fallen in love with. Turns out he was nothing but a monster, a drunk monster with no intention to grow up and settle down. Tears came to my eyes regardless of how hard I tried to fight them back, and instead of breaking, Ronnie simply hardened and glared at me.
"I'm not going to deal with your fucking tears tonight. Go home, Riley."
I grabbed my coat and keys and raced from the monster who now possessed my Ronnie, allowing the ugly sobs to break as I opened the door and fled blindly from his cruel gaze.
