Love Like Winter

Introduction

His gun is pointed at me while mine are pointed right back at him. His blue eyes stare at me intensely as I coldly stare at him; each one of us are bloodied up from the fist fight before hand. “I should have known this is where everything would lead.” He says, letting out a humorless chuckle. “I should have known there was a secret behind that pretty face of ours.”

“This is nothing personal James, just business.” I calmly tell him. “I didn’t mean for it to end up like this.”

“You mean you didn’t plan on falling in love and vice versa?” He questions me, getting a firmer grip on the trigger.

“It wasn’t part of the plan, no.” I reply. “But it happened and I don’t regret it. The only regret I have is having to kill you now.”

“You won’t kill me.” He cockily smirks. “You love me.”

“That may be true, but I’m an assassin; I don’t let my emotions get the better of me.” I explain to him as my trigger finger gets twitchy. “Like I said, Barnes; it’s nothing personal.” I say before pulling back the trigger, firing my gun; filling the area with a ear piercing bang….
