So, Dante is telling the Truth

CIRCLE IV: Roxas Boulevard

We were transported to a cliff near an open sea.
Marvelous! Beautiful! Amazing as it is!
Me to Dante: “Master! Is this really a part of hell which I see?”

Dante: “Yes, but wait for the reality as this is an illusion.
Don’t be deceived by its marvel.”
Amazed by its beauty, I stared at the sea but with a bit of confusion.

A hail of mud, land, asphalt, and cement
poured over the sea. I spotted a sinner, swimming in the sea.
I realized that it isn’t a sea but souls who are in need to repent.

Phlegyas: “Who dares to travel and explore here?”
“It is I, Dante!” My master replied with such outstanding ferocity.
Phlegyas to Dante: “Oh Dante! Beware old walker, for there’s a dark seer.”

He added, “He flies within this realm and eats the remaining flesh of the sinners.
And as you can see, you brought a mortal.”
Dante: “But he is allowed by the world’s savior and redeemer.”

Being frightened and scared, I stood by the edge of the cliff.
Phlegyas: “Then nothing I can do more, for I don’t have power.”
Dante:” We need to swim to get across. His trip will be now more of a trial than a gift.”

Dante to Me: “Do not be afraid and ignore thy souls
for they are now trapped and condemned in thy world.”
I know that my God will protect me from the river’s ghouls.

I jumped with no hesitations and no regrets.
The sea swallowed me and screams are about.
Souls whirled me like a ballerina’s pirouettes.

A soul spoke to me and there he said,
“Save me, and bring me to thy maker!
I’m just a simple merchant who hoarded.”

In the depths of the sea, souls are carrying a relic.
There it was, a metallic globe of the world.
Oh! What a horrid view of a personality of money lunatics!

Finally, I arrived at the end.
No sign of the seer but ravaged by exhaustion.
A sign says, “Life will be death and grim will be you light. Here you will descend.”

By that time, we moved forward to the valley of the wrathful.
A concrete jungle once conquered by a kingpin and his thugs.
This is where happiness are for fools.
