Status: Some chapters maybe a little steamy
My Captain
Christmas Morning
I opened my eyes Christmas morning to see James’s beautiful eyes and smiling looking down at me.
“Merry Christmas darling”
“Merry Christmas”, I replied, putting my arms around his neck and kissing him on his lips.
James lay next to me, running his fingers through my hair.
“Your all I wanted for Christmas”, he said as he kissed me deeply
I looked at the clock 5am
“James, it’s very early on Christmas morning, why wake me so early?”
“I wanted to spend the first few hours of Christmas with you” he answered
I snuggled my head into his chest
“It’s been a weird couple of days” I said
“Yes it has been” James smiled
“Never that afternoon did I think I would find the girl of my dreams?”
“Do you mean that?”
“Yes, with all my heart”
“How can you tell? We don’t know each other yet” I said trying to sound believing.
“When I came down the road, you took my breath away. The look on your face, while you looked at the Devon scenery. The glint in your eyes, I just fell completely in love with you”
“James you’re so sweet” I said as I gently kissed his chest
“Don’t kiss me there” James said slightly alarmed
“Why? What’s wrong?”
“You said no last night”
“This isn’t going to be easy” I said with a tear in my eye
“Maybe we should get up” James said wiping the tear from my eye
“Okay” I said letting go of him
“I have an idea” James said as he buttoned up his shirt.
“How would you like to go for a ride?”
“I’d love to”
“Meet you down stairs in 10 minutes”
“See you then” I smiled
As I came down the stairs, I could hear James saying “Woo boy, steady. Now Joey don’t go showing me up, this girl means the world to me”
I giggled as I walked through the doorway.
“You look so beautiful this morning darling”
“Thank You”
“Joey meet Dawn, Dawn meet Joey”
“Hello Joey” I said as I walked over and stroked Joey’s neck
“He likes you” James said, beaming that smile
“Well I like you to Joey”
James lifted me onto Joey’s back, then climbed up and sat behind me. Putting his left arm around my waist and taking the reins in his right hand.
“Here we go”
“Walk on Joey”
We trotted out onto the main road and into the field on the other side.
“Do you want to see how amazing Joey is?”
“Yes please” I replied trying not to sound nervous
James tightened his arm around my waist. He held me so tight to him.
The wind started to whip my hair as Joey went into a run. Snow still adorned the trees and fields as we ran past.
I’d never known a sensation like this, the closest I had come was when James kissed me last night. It felt like the world had stopped spinning.
I reached my hand up behind his head, and played through with his hair. I put my other hand on his arm around my waist.
I’ve never trusted anybody so much in all my life.
“Why did I stop him last night?” I questioned myself
James lent down and whispered in my ear
“I have a surprise for you”
“What surprise?”
“Wait and see. I and Joey have been very busy this morning”
We slowed down as we approached an old barn just off the main road.
“Here we are” James said as he climbed off Joeys back and lifted me back onto the ground
“That was amazing” I said breathless
James kissed my forehead,”Come on”
James opened the barn door, and led me inside
In the middle of the barn he had set up a table with 2 chairs
“Breakfast?” James asked
“Yes please” I replied. I hadn’t noticed how hungry I was till now
James pulled out the chair and I sat down, James sat down opposite me, with that beaming smile.
“Eat”
I have no idea how he kept the food hot, but it was the best Full English Breakfast I had ever tasted.
“How have you done all this?”
“That would be telling”
I got up from the table, walked round and sat on James’s lap
I put my arms around his neck and snuggled my head into his chest. I felt so safe and secure; I knew he would never do anything to hurt me.
James put his face onto the top of my head. I could hear him smelling my hair
“You smell so good” James said with longing in his voice
I looked up, and James planted a gentle kiss on my lips
“Do that again” I said as my heart raced
James kissed me again, as I wrapped my arms tight around his neck.
James picked me up and carried me over to the freshly laid straw. Gently he lay me down; our eyes never left each other’s.
James lay next to me and pulled me into his arms, “We won’t do anything you don’t want to”
Just lying next to him, feeling his warmth and hearing his heartbeat was enough
I wrapped my arms and legs around him and fell asleep
I woke to shouting, coming from outside the barn
I got up and went out, to find James and my father in a full scale argument.
“HOW DARE YOU” my father yelled
“I told you Mr Faulks, nothing has happened”
“And you expect me to believe this?”
“Yes I do, you need to have more faith in your daughter. Yes we wanted to give in, but we never did”
“Dawn, get into the car” my father beckoned.
I touched James hand I walked past, “I love you” I whispered
“I love you to” James whispered back
