I hummed quietly to myself as I finished making dinner.
Chicken Alfredo with garlic bread. Sounds pretty good to me.

They should be home soon.

I quickly ran upstairs and checked to see if the room was in order. I quickly adjusted a couple of pictures and shifted the curtains so the perfect amount of sunlight shone through the room.

Everything just needed to be perfect.

I dashed back downstairs as I heard the car pull into the driveway.
I opened the door with a huge smile on my face as Vic walked inside with a tiny baby girl in his arms.
He smiled widely at me, then at the baby.

She looked at both of us and smiled.

“She has your blue eyes, Kellin.”
“She has your brown, curly hair, Vic.” He pouted.
“Hey…it’s not that curly…!”

She giggled and tugged on Vic’s hair.
“I want to hold her…!”
He nodded as I gingerly took her into my arms.

“She’s so beautiful…!”
Vic wrapped his arms around me and kissed me on the cheek.
