Manipulator

Chapter 7

I wake to the smell of ink, and find myself in a concrete room. I look at the shiny metal door, wide open. I try to stand, but my legs give out a truly painful scream. I start crying, because I know I can escape, but I can't move my legs. I look up again to see two men, one who looks like he actually cares that I'm hurting. The other just places a plate of roasted chicken and seasoned potatoes on the floor. I stretch out my hand, but fall just short of the plate. My stomach starts to burn, and I try to move myself forward, but my legs make me cry out in pain. The one boy, with compassion, pushes the plate closer to my hands. I'm able to just grab it and drag it to me. I eat ravenously, choking down every mouthful. The men leave, and I start to feel very strange. I look on my forearm and stifle a scream.
Tattooed onto my arm is a rose, with two swords sheathed behind it. Another man appears in the doorframe.
"Well, glad to see you're ok." Sorrin's frame is shining in the door, but right now I want to get a sword and slash that son of a veggie. He kneels down by me, and his silver eyes pool with concern and anguish. He walks down by my legs, and carefully touches one, but it sends searing pain up my body. He doesn't touch me again, but he continues to inspect the wounds.
"Well doc, am I gonna make it?" I joke. Sorrin doesn't smile, or respond to my joke. He starts muttering about bruising.
"At least it's not broken," he whispers, suddenly taking my waist and turning my front to the light. He begins to inspect the fronts of my legs. I blush like mad, being in this position with a boy.
A question forms in my mind, and I can't help but ask, "How did you know?" He stops what he's doing, and wraps a free arm around me, leaning to the other, our lips just a coin's width away.
"This is my realm," he whispers to me, "this people have gotten me before. I knew you'd be next." I can see in his eyes his own question, does he kiss me or not. A smile crosses his lips and he lowers them nearer to mine. Footsteps down the hall make him rise and vanish before my eyes. When the footsteps stop, I look to see a man in a white lab coat, course he was upside down, but that didn't matter then. In his hand is a large syringe, and I HATE shots! I start to see blue, and I rise off the ground. The large metal door closes, trapping the man in here with me. I change the scene to an operation table, where the man is bound to the table with metal bands. Unfortunately, my strength fades quickly and I lower again to the floor and the man smiles evilly. "Too bad." He clicks his tongue, and I close my eyes to rest from my loss of energy.
