Niklaus's journeys

Beginning

Niklaus
10th century
I felt so weak, never before in my life had I felt this way.

I stumbled through the night but I couldn't satisfy this hunger.

I couldn't eat the normal food that my servants prepared.

Being a slave to the moon and now one to the sun seemed to have changed my appetite.

Soon I spied a young homeless girl huddled on the side of a tavern.

"You shouldn't be outside, creatures roam these streets at night," I say smirking as she looked wildly around her.

"I don't know where to go sir, my family kicked me out for burning a loaf of bread," she spoke softly.

"Well we should get you somewhere safe then," I said offering her a hand.

She took it and stood.

Unbeknown to her I licked my lips hearing her blood pumping.

My fangs lowered and I lead her down an alleyway.

"You are not going to scream," I said compelling her.

She nodded and I leaned down piercing her neck with my fangs.

Blood pooled into my mouth.

Moaning at the soothing effect I didn't realize that I had drained her body.

Something seemed to have clicked inside of me.

My werewolf side had been activated for killing this girl.

Smiling I hid the body behind a pile of barrels and tore up her skin so it looked more like an animal attack.

Walking away I felt more at peace for now.

But my stepfather Michel will notice my change.

As I went back to my house I stood into the parlor.

"Mother I am leaving," I said to her.

"Leaving, what do you mean by that Niklaus?" she asked.

"Father will kill me for being a monstrosity," I said flatly.

She gasped, "Oh so you didn't think I knew I was a hybrid did you, well you are mistaken mother," I said cruelly and I left to go to my chambers.

Packing my things I heard a noise.

"Leaving Niklaus, you wouldn't mind if I joined do you?" My brother Elijah asked and my sister Rebekah nodded in as well.

"As long as you don't tell father go ahead, but I'm leaving soon so be quick," I said.

Soon my siblings and I left but not before I ran into Michel.

“Hello Michael,” I sneered.

“What are all of you doing?” He asked glancing at our luggage.

“We are leaving,” I stated flatly.

“I see,” He said but in a blur he stabbed me.

I bent over in pain.

“You didn’t think I could tell you’re a monster did you i kill creatures like you?” He said twisting the wooden stake.

I growled out in pain as he dug it in deeper.

I grabbed his wrist and pulled on it snapping the limb.

He howled out in pain, as he had to re-brake his wrist to set the bones.

I grabbed and dashed off leaving my brother and sister.

Still bleeding I blurred out of the country and when I felt safe I went up to a house, which seemed to have called to me, welcoming me with open arms.

I cautiously knocked on the door and waited.

A teen opened the door, “Can I help you?” she asked.

I gasped when our eyes met and then I was shrouded in black.
