Waking Up

When you're depressed you sometimes have a hard time taking care of yourself. When I'm deep into depression, I have a hard time getting out of bed, much less taking an hour to look acceptable.

Tip: If your hair is really tangled, it means that Edward Sissorhands visited you last night. You may want to wear your hair up for a night or two.

It's hard to get into a coping skill when you don't want to get out of bed. Something I think is helpful is waking up to music. Make sure it's a song that you really do like, that way, you'll want to turn it up instead of turning it off and going back to sleep. It's also helpful to put your alarm across the room, that way you have to get up.

Tip: If you live with other people who wake up later than you.... Oh well.
