Nothing Personal

And Keeps You On Your Toes

It was 7 in the morning and Liam walked into Miranda's room.

"Rise and shine!"he sang while opening the drapes and letting in all the blinding light. He heard a growl coming from the lump of covers.

Miranda flung them off of her upper body and slowly looked at Liam while squinting, "What the hell is this?"

"Surprise!" Liam said raising to cups of Starbucks.

"What fucking time is it?" she grumbled angrily, rubbing away the sleep from her eyes.

He ignored her tone and walked over to her, "I got your favorite, low-fat coconut latte with extra foam and cinnamon." he placed the cups on her night stand and sat on her bed. "So are you ready?"

She raised her leg under the cover and put all her weight into kicking him off the bed and her landed with a loud thud, "Ready for what?" she rolled over in the bed.

Liam threw her a look, thankful she wasn't looking as he got up and recovered.

"Our date." he breathed.

She snorted and grabbed a pillow, putting it firmly over her head.

"Don't you want to know what I have planned for us?" He urged and began to walk over to her, but then decide it was best to stay on the other side of the room.

"I don't wanna go." She yelled into her pillow annoyed.

"Are you sure? You'll be getting a lot of attention." she lifted the pillow a little, taking a quick peek at him, then slammed it back down not wanting to seem too eager.

"And why is that?"

Her strolled over to slowly, arms behind his back as he leaned down, lifting up the pillow,"I guess you'll just have to get up and see."

She sat up abruptly, pushing him back and took off the cheetah print blindfold that matched her pj's that was dangling from her pony tail.

They stayed there staring at each other for a while before Liam finally got the hint to leave.

"Oh! Okay!" he said slightly embarrassed, "Great. I'll just wait for you out there." he pointed to the door and Miranda nodded raising her eyebrow. He walked out briskly, not wanting to make a bigger ass of himself.

About three hours later, Liam was still sitting against the wall of her room. He was playing with his phone, ignoring the snotty texts Harry and Louis were sending him.

He threw the phone in his lap, bored with the mindless game he was playing. As he sighed heavily he heard the door finally open. His eyes widened as Miranda walked out.

From bottom to top she looked fresh from a magazine cover. She had on gold and silver pumps, black leather pants that clung to her every curve, a silky blouse that matched her shoes in colors and dramatics, and shinney silver earings that dangled into her big bouncy curly dark blond hair.

"Um... You're wearing that?" he looked up at her, still on the ground staring.

She looked down at her outfit, "What?" she shook her head with attitude looking back at him, a hand on her hip defensively.

He looked around awkwardly and reached up to scratch the back of his head. The last thing he wanted to do was upset her.

"It's not that you don't look stunning, love. Um, but maybe... Do you think you could tone it down some?"

She took her free hand and placed it on her other hip, gaze hardening as she stared him down, "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Liam's palms began to sweat and he rubbed them on his jeans, "Well, um, you might want to wear less."

She scoffed insulted, "Excuse me?! You want me to wear less? Is that all I'm good for, Liam? To be your arm candy! You just want me to show my curves so you can look good?!"

Liam put his hands up to protest and get her to stop yelling, "No! I don't want your curves!"

She gasped and placed a hand over her mouth in astonishment, "What's wrong with my curves?!"

Liam shook his head frantically, his eyes going wide and he stood up to face her better, "No, no."

Miranda covered herself with arms, now self conscious.

"Mandy," Liam spoke softly, grabbing her wrists with his large hands, he didn't want to screw up anymore, "You are one of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen. And your body is perfect as long as you're happy. No guy should ever make you feel otherwise. And I'm sure as hell not gonna let you beat yourself up over what is already perfect."

Miranda found herself letting her hands slip into his, but then caught herself and pushed him away. She crossed her arms over her chest and cleared her throat.

"So what should I change into then?" she mumbled.

Liam smiled, "Jeans and a t shirt should be fine."

A little while later, Miranda stood in front of a water park entrance, shocked and slightly appalled.

"Where have you fucking brought me?" she squeaked in pure horror.

Liam laughed a little at her theatrics, taking her by the hand to urge her forward, "A water park, love, have you never been?"

"Maybe when I was like six." she sneered.

He brushed off her hostile mood, finally making her walk, "Come on, it'll be fun."

She stopped in the middle of the crowd, Liam looking back at her, trying hard not to let his irritation show.

"What is it, dear?"

"Uh," she hesitated, "I don't have a bathing suite."

He smiled, "Don't worry, I'll buy you one."

She made a face, one that didn't like that idea at all, "Ew. Cheap retail?"

His smile slowly faded when he realized she wasn't joking, "Well what do you expect? Louis Vuitton?"

She scrunched up the left side of her face and leaned back slightly, taking his offer seriously, "I'm more of a Juicy Couture kinda girl."

He narrowed his eyes at her, "Right..."

Shaking his head, he pulled her into a booth, looking at all the swimwear.

"Ah, what about that blue one?"

She gawked at him, then back at the skimpy two piece swimsuit he wanted her to wear.

"It almost matches the gorgeous color of your eyes." He whispered to her.

She scooted away from him to keep from shivering and cleared her throat awkwardly, "Uh, yeah, sure."

Liam rang it up and in no time Miranda had it on.

After a while of resisting, Miranda finally began to actually enjoy herself. Liam, obviously pleased with himself, took advantage of her good mood. He was disappointed there were no paparazzi anywhere in sight.

By the end of their day, they were both soaked and laughing.

"So are you ready for the picnic?" Liam smiled.

Miranda's smile quickly dropped, "What?"

"A picnic?" he hesitated, still smiling to be encouraging.

"Like... In public?" she asked slowly.

He laughed, "Where else would it be?"

She softly chuckled, sounding more sarcastic than ever, "Um, no. I can't be seen anywhere like this."

Liam looked at her and shrugged, "You'll change into your clothes, it's fine."

She stopped walking, no trace of amusement, "Either you take me to the hotel, or this isn't happening."

Liam was desperate for a photo so he simply sighed, shaking his head in irritation, "Okay, lets go."

"Liam quickly took hold of her hand, taking her to pick up her clothes and then got a cab to take them back to the hotel.

"I won't be long." Mandy said as they went up the elevator up to their floor.

Liam muttered an assent, not believing her.

When the doors opened they hurriedly walked to the suite.

Once inside, Miranda left to her room, leaving Liam to his own devices for about two hours.

"Okay." Miranda said as if she was out of breath, "I'm ready."

Liam stood up from the couch in a daze. He had been falling asleep and rubbed his eyes saying, "Alright dear, let's go." as he took her in he couldn't help but smile.

Her dark blond hair was in loose curls under a white sun hat, she wore an elegant peach colored sundress, matching jewels hanging from her neck and cascading down her front, and her shoes were simple heeled sandals.

"You have more outfits than any girl I've ever met." he said lightheartedly.

She laughed, slightly blushing, "Well, I'm not like most girls."

Liam walked up to her smiling, "That obvious." she began to frown, but he added, "You're far more special."

She couldn't help but smirk playfully, "Okay, Romeo. Where to now?"

He made a loop with his arm, gesturing for her to place her arm through it, "Come with me and you'll see."

They made it to the park with plenty of daylight to spare.

Liam chose a spot out in the open, but Miranda wanted to move under a tree right next to a ponds edge.

"There's a lot of paparazzi..." Miranda told him skeptically.

Liam knew, but he just shrugged, trying to appear like he didn't care, "It's not like they're going to get something scandalous. We're just a sweet couple having an innocent picnic." he smiled widely at her, cocking his head to the side a bit.

Miranda giggled at him, then her demeanor changed a bit, seeming sheepish as she spoke.

"I had a really nice time today, Liam."

"Yeah, me too." he smiled at her, then casually looked over his shoulder to check of the paparazzi who were chatting away, "It's really nice to have a day of peace and to not think of all that is going on." he added looking back at her and making eye contact.

Miranda smiled sweetly, breaking eye contact as she gazed behind him, "Oh thank god. They're leaving." she motioned to the paparazzi.

Liam turned sharply, panic beginning to settle in, "Miranda do you want to move into the sunlight?"

"Sure," she said and began to gather their things.

"No let's just go on a walk." he said stopping her.

Miranda moved her hands away laughing lightly, "Okay."

He stood up, offering his hand down to her which she gladly took. He started jogging into the sun, encouraging her to join him. She laughed loudly and ran after him, not caring who saw.

Just as he planned, the paparazzi began to notice them.

"No!" Miranda pouted also noticing them, "They're coming back."

She had stopped by the ponds edge and he came running up to her, taking both of her hands in his, "Well if I saw a girl as dashing as you, I would take pictures too."

She blushed madly, "You just know all the right things to say, don't you Liam?"

He smiled and boasted, "It just comes naturally around you."

"This is 'kind of' the best date ever." she said putting an emphasis on kind of, but Liam didn't notice. He was much more concerned with the cameraman a few yards away.

The man lifted the camera and Liam turned back to Miranda staring into her eyes.

"Why don't we end it perfectly?" Liam whispered, closing his eyes and leaning in for a kiss.

Instead of feeling the soft touch of Miranda's lips, he got a mouth full of cold, dirty pond water as Miranda shoved him in there."

"How dare you!" she yelled completely outraged.

Liam tried to stand but kept slipping on the mossy rocks below him.

"How dare me?" he managed to get out, "You pushed me into a pond!" he tried to not sound heated but was failing.

Miranda stormed off, not bothering with him anymore.

"Mandy!" he yelled instantly regretting his harsh tone, "Wait!" but she was long gone.

Liam smacked the water with his hand in frustration. He looked over at the paparazzi who were still snapping photos and sighed angrily.

If there were any sweet, loving photos of him and Miranda, they were long forgotten about now
