Falling Stars

He stared.

It was a sleepy town and she was basking in it. They were sat in a booth near the back of a coffee shop. With her eyes closed against the rising sun, she relaxed against the worn leather of the seat, her legs twisted and folded beneath her. Her fingers wrapped around the warmth of the mug as she inhaled the captivating scent of the dark liquid.

Her cheeks were glowing with the remains of yesterday. He wished he could see her blue eyes and admire how they sparkled, alight with adventure and love and kindness. She inhaled deeply, shoulders rising and rolling in a soft circle, and finally opened her eyes to look at him.

He smiled.
